Damn, no forum warrior elites, the epeen levels will be off the charts.

Yeah that's what I was hoping for too. I like to think the forum warrior elites suck so bad at the game, their crutch is the forums and not cheats......or they'd actually be playing the game instead of accruing 500,000 posts.

This was just one wave. There will be more they may not get the same list treatment but more will come.

Good on PGI.

I hope we continue to get lists.... I can mark them off my list of "weird **** that just don't make sense"...

It results in high scores from what I see on the list and what I seen in game. Which is the trap I guess. Sorry to anyone that got banned that really sucks. I feel sorry for them.

I see several obvious duplicate accounts, which leads me to believe they are shameless hack users. **** those guys. Permaban, burn them with fire. They are clearly selfish users who showed no remorse by using hacks in multiple accounts.

I only know a handful of the list... under a half dozen I think I recognize. Definitely not pillar of the community types by any measure.

I will say this, to any cheaters that have yet to be caught and/or banned by PGI. If you stop your cheating ways now, perhaps you can save yourselves three years worth of redemption, and maybe JUST MAYBE PGI will allow you to continue playing the game fair & square.

I can't speak for PGI obviously, but I'm sure they already have every single one of you pegged. They may not have banned/called you out yet because they don't want to have to ban members of this gaming community if they have to (like Russ said, they gave you fair warning to stop cheating...). If a player admitted their sin and vowed to turn over a new leaf, if it was up to me I'd probably give them a second chance. I'd watch them like a hawk, of course, and immediately ban them if they ever slipped up again, but I'd allow them to continue to use their content if they stayed true to their word to play nice.

There are not any bads just inexperienced players. With Mechwarrior it takes a long time to master everything and I am still working on a few thinga also since closed beta. I had to rebind a few keys.
Biggest tip for good aiming playing legit is turn down mouse sensativity in game to half and go from there.

Being inexperienced is not an excuse to cheat. There is never a good excuse to cheat.

I, for one, am glad to see them go.

What about people who changed the sound files to make the small laser make a 'pew' noise? Hope that's not a bannible offense as it doesn't give you any advantages.

Tinkering with the game files, except for the user config, can be a bannable offense.

There are likely more. We have no way of knowing how far back they checked telemetry. There are certain to be others who haven't played recently enough to get caught - yet.

The third party software they were talking about are things like macros for getting UACs and AC2s to fire on a perfect delay, or syncing up Gauss Rifle charges with PPCs.

To be fair most forum warriors don't claim to be good at the game...

As for the list I recognize 4 names, but not anything about them. Just people I've seen in game. Must be some pretty bad players to cheat and still not make a target priority list..... I can't even imagine how awful they must be without cheating. Nintendo Powerglove + no reflexes + no situational awareness maybe?

I agree but you quoting my reply is completely irrelevant. People insulting others playing ability by saying they are bad isnt cool.

I was hoping everyone that out scored me in the Orion chassis challenge would get banned. HAHA just kidding.

There is no excuse for using hacks, end of discussion.

I hope that PGI are being fairly militant about this: everyone who cheats richly deserves to get perma-banned. Good riddance to the lot of them, whoever they are...

Edited to add: Just read the list of 64 cheating scum. Only recognised 2 or 3 names, which in itself speaks volumes. Excellent work PGI, carry on!

Read the EULA. I'm pretty sure there's a clause in there that explicitly states "modification of core game files is strictly prohibited bla bla bla' y'know, like it states in EVERY SINGLE GAME I CAN THINK OF. It may not give you a clear advantage, but they would have the grounds to legally take any action they deemed necessary, such as nullify the agreement you willfully READ & CLICKED "I AGREE" to, which gives you the right to access any game content.

*sigh* srsly... people REALLY have to work on their reading comprehension. What part of DO NOT MODIFY do people not understand? Please refer to Line 6.3.1 of Terms of Use. OR, refer to THIS POST RIGHT HERE issued by the Primus themself!

EDIT:

In short, YES, CHANGING YOUR CLIENT'S IN-GAME SOUNDS IS A BANNABLE OFFENSE.

There's no problem with post counts, it's with posts dedicated to telling the "steering wheel underhive" that they suck and shouldn't play. :P

I'd love to see this a monthly or weekly thread

it's so SATISFYING

I would in the sense that, it shows PGI are on the ball and catching people, on the other hand I hope these are the only ones for now, a monthly list of 60 people would be kind of depressing.

At least it means that the steam punks will get caught, which is when I think you'll see an increase in scumbaggery
