I think the mech should prove to be a fun skirmishing platform. I would be hesitant to bring it into a brawl unsupported only because of its tonnage, but even in that role it could prove capable assuming the mech has appropriate support in its group. Heat issues under sustained engagement seem like they might be prevalent across multiple build variations, which further shifts the chassis to the hit and fade approach, but this fits with the mech's purpose in the first place anyways.
Personally I am a fan of either variation of the
first variant above. Can leverage the high shoulder energy point to hit and fade
fast, and, if anything gets close,
including 5xSSRM6 Stormcrows, the MASC and ECM kick in. Can hover outside of Active Probe range and just keep pouring ERMLas and SSRM4 fire into the Crow while playing keepaway, letting your ECM jam the 'crow's SSRMs in turn. If anything smaller and faster comes, the SSRMs should be a good deterrent, and, heat willing, an ERPPC/LPLas shot or two can give them a reason to reevaluate their life choices.
The IFR is a fun skirmisher, but lacks the pod space to do much with. This has the pod space and bonus ECM, jump jets, with situationally the same speed, and superior hardpoint locations.
Also, you can go full pants on head ******** with it and pull something like
6 MG, 1 LPlas, 2 A-SRM6 for the lulz.
