Hi, been playing for a while, some of my suggestions are going to get a lot of hate, but...you asked.
BattleDamage, especially when hit in the cockpit, crack and craze the glass, make it look like you are getting damaged
Resize Mechs Please Please PLEASE resize the mechs, when I am running around in an Assassin medium Mech, i should not be the same size as most of the Assault mechs. (the pilot probably should be corrected as well)
(Contentious Idea)
IS Armor types Instead of nerfing clan lasers and gauss etc, why not introduce IS armor types from the original game. Ballistic Armor, Reflec armor, and Anti-Missle armor. It could give a 50% damage reduction to the specific weapon type, but allow normal damage from others. Tired of those annoying clan laser drills? Slap on some reflec, Tired of missles use reactive armor, Those Gauss and Ac10s kicking your butt use ballistic armor. It wouldn't be so hard to introduce, just make it take up and weigh the same as Ferro or light Ferro, It would reduce space available for weapons, but make IS mechs more survivable....(shuddup clanners, I know, you are going to cry about it, but it will make PGI stop nerfing your weapons)
Destructible Terrain It would be nice to have more terrain be destructible, have mechs able to shoot or walk through a building, knock them down on your enemies...etc...
New Map Idea Instead of all your super hot maps, how about a SUPER cold map, one where you NEED to have a hot mech or your mech will shut down and freeze over...just...a thought.
Up Armor Heavy and Assault mechs need to be more survivable against those annoying light mechs (I drive a locust, Piranha and MLX so I know what I am talking about) It takes me 5 to 10 seconds to eat through the rear armor of an assault with my mechs, Lights should fear to fight assaults and in some cases heavies. As it is, I kill 2 or 3 assaults by legging or eating their rear armor out with machine guns.
on that note
Machine gun bank either introduce machine gun ghost heat or jam chance in banks of more than 5. Piranha and MLX Machine gun boats are ridiculous. Also...machine guns fly further the heavier they are, not the other way around...a .50 cal out ranges a .223.
Tunnels/deep water/tight ravines Light mechs are supposed to be able to go places others are not, it would be nice to have some tunnels back, and some places where lights can run. They would have to be able to be targeted and seen by other mechs, so maybe some short tunnels.
Quick Play Drop Decks A drop deck for quick play would be nice, maybe a selected mech and some standard backups which you could choose from prior to dropping into a map. It sucks using Missle/long range mechs on a brawl map and vice vs...
Weapon trials allow players to assign weapons to a mech that haven't been purchased yet and drop into a trial map. This will allow them to see if the selected weapon/engine combo is worth it, or if they need to switch it up. Make it so they can then choose to purchase the set.
Smoother Mechlab Transitions I upgrade my skills, hit save, it kicks me back to the select mech screen, it would be nice to hit save and then be able to continue working on the selected mech.
