It's funny that IS cried and finally got lazer clan meta nerfed, yet every and each one of them in the same time runs overquirked lazer boats like WVRs, STKs and TDRs :D :D :D

The most competitive teams play both and in competition will bring the best mechs which serve their tactics, IS or Clan.

basically whatever mechs can pack the most Gauss+PPC, or now CLPL.

Now even with the nerfs, Timbers (i always sucked at mediums so i wont talk about the SCR) still have speed, survival, hardpoints, range and alphas that most IS pilots would suck the genital of the gender they are not attracted to get.

I am not saying there are not IS offenders that are overquirked, but without them would anyone touch the Thunderbolt? Dragon? I don't think so. Those mechs, as of now, are **** covered in gold for most pilots. I am sure there are people out there that would wreck face even without the quirks. But they need those to function.

Maybe they need toning down. But considering how hard the community lost its **** over a nerf that everyone eventually just built over "because Timberwolf is still a good mech", i think we wont even see a dragon if it got a 5-10% nerf on its cooldown, as the mech was not that good to begin with.

you know im kinda tired of hearing how OP the Timber is,

my Solution,
1) move the Time line up to 3055-56
2) Add the Rakshasa BattleMech,
3) IS can stop Complaining

What Bishop and Appogee said. Also CW win records seem to indicate that clans are still ahead, if not by as much as when they were released. There are other indicators that current balance is something like clan 60-55%, IS 40-45%, respectively.

They would have to compare similar groups, like pug vs pug. Clans have fewer players but per capita, are more organized. A 12 man is gonna **** all over a pug group almost every time.

Which is the weakest of Large laser class and is mostly used on ONE extremely quirked mech.

Nerf the chassis, not the weapon, fools.

The best IS mechs in the game are not as good as the best Clan mechs in the game.

The mediocre IS mechs are worse than the mediocre Clan mechs.

The worst mechs from both factions are in a pretty bad place.

Lastly, you can freely discount the advice of anyone telling you that the Dire Wolf is bad, or not that good or the pure lolz where someone tweeted @ Russ and told him it was "fragile".

Anyone who thinks the DWF isn't one of the most dominant mechs in the game, is likely playing in the worst scrub tier ghetto this game has to offer - because they are scrubs themselves.

Piloting Whales in Group or Solo.

My experience, in Solo, piloting a Whale is always an iffy scenario.

Mega firepower but, you get left behind or unsupported...you go down.

I imagine decent group play would support such a powerful alpha/area denial piece.

So for me, who mainly Solo's, Whale is fine.

That's a fault of the players, not the mech.

I solo more than 90% of the time, and have been doing so for over 6 months.

Playing the DWF is really not that iffy, you have to move with purpose, you have to know the maps and the locations where you should be and should not be.

You should know your build and where it will be the most effective to support your team with more raw firepower than any other mech can bring - outside of another Dire Wolf.

That's it.

That's it.

and recognize it's limitations, and acknowledge like anything, it has counters. Get caught in the open and focus fired, you die. Get caught alone by a wolfpack, you die.

Then again, so do most mechs in these scenarios.

Definitely.

I know that even when I get caught alone though, that the mechs that catch me will not be getting out of it unharmed.

The 19 ton of armor is much less durable when your CT can be easily hit from all frontal angles. Plus the damn hood.

yes, because it's unique in that.

And it's really much harder to do now than many mechs.

Heck my Phracts get CT hit dang near from behind..... hard to feel sorry for the mech packing a Hunchbacks weight worth of guns for having a weakness

Really my only complaint is it looks like crap, as opposed to the concept art.

Then you probably loathe the quad UAC5 King Crab. Much better PPFLD, and better hitboxes than that of the Whale.
