I was affraid of this as well, but seems most people understand the issue properly.
The mechs that need it the most are carrying the most votes.

I voted Kit Fox, Treb, Catapult, and Awesome, and was pleasantly surprised to see the results after voting.

Wow...we voted exactly the same.

Thats the thing though "selling feature." Its not a problem to be small, but it is to be large. Thats why there will always be a bias towards making mechs smaller. The Zeus is literrally the same size as the hellbringer with 15 tons difference, but that isn't "much of a problem." But the griffin being 15 tons smaller than another mech is a problem.

If we are to truely desire balance or correct scaling, it has to be with the understanding that there are problems on both sides of the spectrum.

Of course I agree that the larger mechs should be first, I'm just saying it doesn't make sense from someone desiring correct scaling for a mech that is 15 tons bigger, to somehow be problem, but a mech 15 tons smaller isn't

I didn't say the Zeus was fine. If anything, it's too small - moreso than the Stalker.

But the problem is that size is a MAJOR balance point. To be honest, I don't give two shits about lore here, just what's reasonable and game balance.

The Medium class as a whole is way, way too big. The Hellbringer is fine, the Zeus a bit small. However, with that said, the Zeus is hardly a monster killing machine. It's not a problem. Mediums suffer a LOT from that size, though, due to lower armor and weapon amounts. If the Zeus was a T1+ mech, I'd be more interested in scaling it up a bit to bring it closer to where it should be; but it's not.

If a mech is too small, but isn't particularly strong, it doesn't need to be scaled up as said scaling is a direct and severe nerf.

If a mech is very powerful, but a bit big, it doesn't need to be scaled down as that would make it more powerful.

If it where up to me, it'd be a focus on mediums to be shrunk, and perhaps a Catapult and Awesome as well. Centurion, Trebuchet, Nova, Catapult, Awesome.

You know you can vote for more than one per weight class, right? They're check boxes, not radio buttons.

I'm sorry, but Atlas hands down needs scaling up. This is the one Mech that is supposed to be the one that brings terror with it when it lumbers onto the battlefield. Currently, it looks like any other Mech, like a Atlas junior,

Have you thought this through? The Atlas is already a sub-par mech, one of the worst assault choices overall other than the D-DC (due solely to ECM). Scaling it UP would make it substantially weaker. Why do you want to make the Atlas worse?

Scaling is part of balance. A mech being small or large for its weight can help balance out other factors, so I think weight is a bad way to go about scaling.

For assaults; Warhawks and Awesomes are too big. Namely, the Awesome has a huge barn sized body, and the Warhawk is the size of a Direwolf with not near the armor or firepower. The Warhawk needs to be scaled down just a little, while I think the Awesome doesn't need scaling so much as a change in its overall shape to better balance its hitboxes.

Stalkers are just a little too small. I've never liked how utterly tanky the Stalker is, which is mostly due to hitbox placement, but scaling it up just a bit could bring its power curve back into line with other IS assaults.

AWS for sure for the Assault class. Maybe the VTR and GAR when there's a second set of 5 to get fixed.

Gargoyle is 20 lighter than Atlas but just as big. Awesome is ******* massive. Zeus is tiny as hell, I always mistake it for a heavy at medium to long ranges.

I agree
yet almost nobody is voting for the gargoyle

Even in lore (you don't care, but the person you responded to does) the Atlas was never supposed to be particularly enormous for its weight. Banshees were noticeably taller, although skinnier as well.

Please keep in mind Stalker's poor speed, poor agility, and poor twisting ability, AND its humongously huge side profile that translates most to its side torso. It is already hard enough to protect itself, it does not need anymore "nerfing". It is a fair trade. I even thought that it needed to have its nose a bit shortened to be able to compare with the recently released mechs. My grandma can turn 360 degree faster than a stalker. Not to mention, Stalkers are fatter! Waaay fatter....

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending stalkers. I just thought it's very easy to engage a stalker and win the fight by just moving to the side, since it can NEVER be able to turn fast enough. A heavy can really get out of the targeting angle of a stalker fairly easily, like I did many times with a Jager or Cat or Phract. Even another assault like Victor or Awesome can get out of stalker's firing angle fairly easily when brawling...

I pilot Awesomes, and really I am okay with their size. It works for them somehow. But I am pretty happy with assaults in general, so I vote for none.

The Awesome by far, it should be the same size as the Zeus.

Some of the 80 tonners are too big IMO. They shouldn't be the same size as the 90+ tonners.

Victor (which actually needs more than just scaling, it could use bigger stomach and head, and smaller shoulders/feet) and Gargoyle need to be dropped down to Zeus size as well.

Awesome isn't so bad, yeah it's bulky but it's quite a bit shorter than the Victor and Gargoyle.

If the Awesome doesn't win this...

It NEEDS to be rescaled. It's too huge. Also seriously needs an art pass. Just...don't give it tiny ppc nipples...please...

You know when people have 3D models of the catapult, I really wish they would take the ears off when they do volumetric comparisons. Because they really are light/hollow and it does makes sense. I'd be interested to see that 10% jump to 22%-28%
