I think one way to ROUGHLY fix CW is to dump he solo queue as is.
Planets are taken with two conditions.
- X% of the planet has to be controlled.
- X Control Points need to be captured.
Percentage of the planet controlled is done with the solo queue transferred over to CW using solo queue maps and game modes. Players align with factions, and get minimal faction points for wins. Solo mercs go anywhere and get nothing or next to nothing faction wise.
While this happens, the Groups hit the CW maps and try to get the Control Points. This results in larger faction points.
Faction points buy alt versions of equipment with quirks.
So, the breakdown; ( and I know there are holes, this is literally written as I come up with it)
CW players who like the map still get to move the CW map
Solo queue players get involved but still get to spam drop the solo queue.
You get the solo queue players likeing the CW map "fluff" by introducing quirk "fluff" on weapons and equipment that they can grind for by choosing a faction. Hopefully gets them involved in learning the lore, picking sides, and trying to help move the map by winning more.
The old trying to get someone to like something by first getting them to like something else which hopefully with get them ultimately to like the first thing. Did you follow that?
