I like it because it looks great and was a favorite from MW2.

Love is a good enough reason to pilot it.

I find this build and this build to be the best builds for the chassis.

But I'm far more entertained by this build.

so....boring. :(

It is; also allows for things like this:

Just without the lasers. Or the AMS. Or the special geometry.
I was lazy for that one and didn't want to remove 20 options.

Ugh. Please stop with the Metanipples. This is a family site.

This is pretty much what sums up the summoner.

Except no Clan Heavy can jump as well as the Summoner. Or turn like the Summoner. Or twist like the Summoner. Or speed up and slow down like the Summoner.

And it's the only thing I'm giving it.

It just comes with a big down side..... 5 tons of locked JJ. What ever build you bring on it, an other clan heavy does it better.

As I edited above, the Summoner can also twist, turn, accelerate, and decelerate better than all other Clan Heavy.
It is basically a Medium class mobility and Medium class firepower stuffed into a Heavy mech frame. We already have Timbie, Hellbie, and Epic ******** for our firepower needs. Why not have something different for once?

Well, removing it's defining trait, the JJs, might as well just use a Hellbringer in the first place.

Unlock Endo? Sure. Remove the JJs? Go use a different robot.

Lets not forget the maddog.
It can LRM spam better than the Summoner, but at a pretty hefty cost of its hitboxes being complete garbage.

I dunno, the Summoner got jumps and poptarts well. I much prefer it to the Nova as a Tart to be honest. It feels more maneuverable than the Nova, it tanks better than the Nova, it jumps as well as the Nova, it's faster and it runs cooler than the Nova.

Then there's the Splatonner. Which works way better for me than the Splat Doge.

I mean sure, it's the worst Clan heavy, but I still find it to be a better mech than almost all the IS heavies. Especially the Phract.

I like the Summoner but it's one of the many victims of balancing mechs by tonnage. The table top game has been using a numeric battle value system based on mech capability (rather than tonnage) for decades now, and hopefully the rebalance Russ was talking about will implement that.

You are supposed to drive the Summoner Prime stock with LB10, ERPPC, and LRM-15. Gotta have 3+ weapon types with overlapping weapon ranges to attack targets at all ranges and also provide direct and indirect fire as you close distance which makes up a well rounded battlemech. Holdon lemmie role my dice.

You're also supposed to use the ERPPC and LRM to open up holes for the LB10X to crit seek!

The problem is that it IS a light mech in a heavy body, but people dont run it that way. You can load up the hardpoints and you dont need heatsinks because you cool down while running from position to position, not facetanking the enemy.

You can make a super mobile lrm100 in this guy, or even dual gauss. Lots of builds are possible when you run less armour, and if you're quick and plan your attacks you dont need it. The playstyle needs to change, not the mech.

So clearly we're having the you're not good enough discussion.

Its the best clan streak boat, I get sick damage with it ( of course streak damage is all spread out)

Being able to jump makes streaks A LOT BETTER. Otherwise you hit terrain in most circumstances.

Jump and destroy those pesky lights at will.
