In case anyone does not know ECM is going to be nerfed by reducing the range from 180 to 90.

However, the shrinking of the umbrella is a good news for LRM users. They can finally see some doritos beyond close range, after years of starvation.

Its a lock on, and its a 1 button press sort of deal
Streak lock should be redone completely

He's also forgetting most ECM mechs are specialist mechs and likely going to get a bump. The Hellbringer and Cataphract-0X are going to feel the hurt though.

I want MW4's fire-and-forget mechanic for SSRMs. Then I can target individual sections with homing missiles!

Yeah man those would be perfect. Its nice because they actually thought of a different mechanic for the missile in that game.

Guardian ECM suite
IS 1.5 ton / CLAN 1 ton
PERSONAL STEALTH ONLY 20 meter sphere (should cover all mechs physical dimensions)
Anti-Radar/ANTI-ECM Jam radius 150 meters
Radar visibility between 1 up to 350 meters, 351 meters and beyond requires TAG/NARC/PPC
15% slowdown to LRM/SSRM lockon times while ECM is functional.
20% slowdown to Target info gathering
(Missle lock speed down from 50%, Infogather down from 25%)
ANGEL ECM suite
IS 3.0 ton / CLAN 2.5 ton
ECM Coverage bubble 150 meters
ANTI-Radar/ANTI-ECM jam radius 150 meters
Radar visibility between 1 up to 375 meters, 376 meters and beyond require TAG/NARC/PPC
30% slowdown to LRM/SSRM lockon times while ECM is ON for Equipped mech only.
15% slowdown to LRM/SSRM lockon to any teamate under the ECM Radius.
30% slowdown to Target info gathering
(Missle lock speed down from 50%, Infogather up from 25%)

AECM - 3.0 ton, 180 meter bubble, 425m+ radar invisibility(1-425 = visible). Slow LRM/SSRM lockon to Carrier only.
meh?
It's a start. But make sure the Clan versions weighs the same, cause they always have lighter and better equipments than the IS.

They're virtually useless on anything other than lights, rarely mediums, and half-dead mechs. Their sole niche is due to the weird hitreg on fast moving lights that has plagued the history of MWO. I mean, I don't pilot streak boats, but that garners my sympathy. Lights that don't get hit when you hit them while they run perpendicular to you? SSRMs are the only thing that 100% don't give a **** about that and will hit them anyways.
Unless you really can't aim, regular SRMs are superior ammo, heat, cooldown, and weight-wise when taking on anything bigger than a light.
Hold on, let me drive it home here: SSRMs kill lights and that's it.

depends how you run em. My 0XP never really rode the ECM. I really expect no change to my average game, TBH, in it.

if you do not touch bap nothing will change
they nerf ecm bubble, streaks are mostly limited by ecm preventing locks from 1/4 of your radar range i.e. from 200-250 meters, that mechanics doesn't change, streakboats negate ecm bubble with their bap anyway, its range is not important unless it's 2 ecm mechs vs a streakboat

This way IS can have tighter grouping and faster flight path adjustments compared to Clans in relation to weight differences, (then maybe explore slight velocity differences too), along with current differences to cooldown and maybe spread too, and allow players to hit where they aim.
Then the Streak Lock-On would only be for saving on ammo. And gear like Artemis, TAG and NARC would then increase missile response to a changing flight path following the crosshair around.
This should help speedy mechs to be able to hit other speedy mechs when both are on the move, and hopefully could bring more parity between the two tech bases with minor differences in various stats, while taking out some cheese on clan streaks in the process.

it would kill clan srms (and is srms when is gets streak 4 and 6)
There can be differences in stats for cooldown, missile flight path adjustment speed, difference in time between missiles (ripple-fired), greater difference with velocity and different ripple fire patterns also to differentiate them.
So I wouldn't worry about killing them off, since they do still save weight as another static difference between them.
MRMs for IS, and ATM for Clans though? Those could kill off SRMs and streaks, once we get to see them in the future!

mrms will probably kill ordinary srms, as for atm... they will imo suck, if you want to get both lrm and srm you are limited by ammo more than by launchers
