Pledge on Battletech and get some exclusive mechs in MWO?
Either way, I will at least spend some money on the new game. I loved the concept of MW Tactics. Sadly the execution was pretty bad.

Anyone finds it funny that the title has an upside-down logo of the Mechcommander series?

Nope noticed it instantly.

The question becomes will the game be more turn based like Shadowrun/X-Com style or not.

Personally I'm more intrigued by the turn based. As much as I loved Mech Commander, I enjoyed the crap out of Shadowrun and X-Com too.

Btw, has TheB33F totally ruined the MWO Atlas for anyone else? I don't even watch his videos, but it's still the first thing that comes to mind when I see that MWO-style Atlas skull.

Just saw this on my Instagram feed. I may have soiled myself. Bad news for PGI, officially no Origins Pack for me, as I must save for this kickstarter.

Origins pack or not I am prepared to go in debt for this!

Interesting. The first turn based mechwarrior game in two decades, except for MWT and megamek.
I want to get excited, but this is just the pre-kickstarter announcement, and I still have a hundred dollar hole in my pocket thanks to MWT.

I probably should be more enthused, I do like harebrained schemes work, Bill Randalls, and MWO mech designs. I guess it depends on where the timeline lands and if it has campaign modes, single player, and follows the battletech ruleset.

Except megamek was never an official licensed game, and MWT never even got out of closed beta. So neither really count.

Oh God... I'm Concerned™ now. I just instantly assumed this would be a normal single purchase game. The idea that it might be "F2P" after MWO's model or similar MW:Tactics didn't occur to me. I just want a Battletech game I can pay for, with a singleplayer and a multiplayer component, just like the good old days. :(

well as turn based game, the mechchoice will care a lot more, because you as player have a lot less influence on hitting and stuff, so buying the right mechs, or eve being forced to use them may be more important than in MWO.

They specifically say it's turn based.

i think there is a good possibility of unseens being not so unseen, word around the campfire is catalyst game labs has already said eff it and are going ahead with the unseens.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. Will be so stoked to get a turn based game to run my warhammer in, if that happens

...and if artistic consistency is being maintained, if Catalyst gets away with it, theoretically that should make it easy for PGI to get in on unseens, too!

Brain is exploding in joy. I wonder which era they will base their initial story campaigns in?

Will they help PGI out with real marketing/ cross sales?

I don't know... Weisman IS BattleTech. He has created 2 Game (CBT and HeroClix/ClickyTech)... I fell in love with his original concept. I might have to abandon ship if he hits a hat trick
