I've had some success with it. At times, I've dropped solo on Community Warfare, found some eager mechwarriors, stepped up to take command, and have been victorious. You can still win; someone just has to step up and take charge.

And yet he (and many others) are still trying so very, very, hard to convince people that in MWO the term solo means playing as part of a team.
Even now, after all this, he (and others) refuses to recognize how utterly stupid and confusing using 'solo' to describe playing on a team both sounds and IS. Oh ya.....he fell for the trap, and fell for it HARD!!!
As for if Vlad is the target audience, I couldn't tell you one why or the other. I play this game as it was designed to be played.....with teammates (very little chance of him being a PUG in one of my groups because I run with 11 other people the majority of the time).
Also, my unit coffers are FAT because the Faction he plays for most of the time has paid my unit hundreds of thousands of C-Bills to fight with Clan Wolf, and for this reason my unit generally doesn't attack Clan Wolf even when we take a contract with an IS Faction.
Actually, we're trying to convince you that the word means something different from what you think it means. Because you're using it wrong. Something corroborated by the majority of people in this thread, and across the forums.
Case in point:

Because the word "solo" in MW:O means dropping not in a premade. It doesn't mean playing like a rambo, which is the term that means what you (Armando) seem to want to say.

I do understand what you are saying but we don't have the large player base needed. That's my 2 cents worth. o7

FWIW community warfare was always supposed to include solo players serving the role of mercenaries filling out the ranks of pre mades. Your misguided belief that belonging to a clan makes you a better player or more deserving of end game content is some of the most toxic nonsense I have read anywhere on the internet. That it continues unabated and even receives support in this community, serves as a reminder of why this game will continue it's slide into obscurity.
At least you did one thing useful; saved me re-installing and the effort of reading your kind of crap in game. For everyone else still putting up with the juveniles and Piranha's glaring mistakes, hat's off to you, however, the game just isn't worth it, even if the idea of an online Mech universe still is.

We have to accept all things bother us in MWO. And make the best of it.
I understand what the OP say but this is also a Part of the Few Problems of the CW in MWO. Maybe when CW is ready. The Solo/Team etc. Situation gets better.

Hell, even a 4-man premade can count as PUGing.

Removing solo players from cw will result in maybe 10 CW games a day.

I'm responding to all of you in bulk. It helps when you post in threads, to actually read what is being discussed. On this one, I don't fault you. Armando phrased his OP in the wrong way.
He was talking about solo minded people that don't play with the team. Basically, he was talking about Rambos, but instead used the term Solo, because he didn't know what it means in MW:O. So switch Solo, to Rambo, and things will make a lot more sense.

Your thinking is completely backwards. There arnt enough teams in MWO to perpetuate CW.
1) solo players are required for CW
2) teams are not required
Therefore its solo players that CW should cater to and not teams. We dont need teams to keep CW going. But we do need solo players or there wont be enough players to fill out the factions.

Khobai. The OP is using "Solo" wrong. He meant it in regards to solo minded rambos. 18+ pages of this thread have been mostly a semantics discussion about that.
Also, Teams are what CW is centered around. Make no mistake.
I think "groups" is the word you're looking for, and I still think you're wrong.

Im saying thats a mistake. CW should not be centered around teams. Because there arnt enough teams to perpetuate CW. Its solo players/PUGs that perpetuate CW and not teams. It makes no sense for CW to cater to the less than 5% of players in groups when 95% of players in CW drop solo. Thats exactly why CW has been dying.

I was told there was going to be community warfare, and it doesn't exist. Not when the game was released, not last week, not today, has NEVER happened.
What PGI laughably CALLS Community Warfare is really just a solo que where players get to drop in 4 mechs. I was TOLD that I was going to get a COMMUNITY of players, working together as a faction / mercenary units to fight against. I call BULLSH!T !!!!!
All I see, match after match, after match, after match is solo players in trials who can't break 100 damage using 4 mechs.
This brings be to the Topic Title:
SOLO PLAYERS SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO QUE FOR COMMUNITY WARFARE.
To say "A Solo Player participated in Community Warfare" is a text book example of an oxymoronic statement.
FACT: Solo players have a que to fight against other solo players already.
FACT: There is no game mode for only 12 man groups. (What COMMUNITY warfare should have been).
As long as a solo player can que for a 'community warfare' drop, there is no community warfare. PGI farked over every community of players (every unit in the game) by allowing solo players the OPTION to que for community warfare. PGI farked over every solo player in game by giving them a chance to que without a unit (If can do it, you should be able to...not solo players fault for attacking/defending solo....it should have never been an option).
TL:DR - Community Warfare should not be an option for solo players, No unit, no que option. Give solo players are REASON to join a 'community' (aka: Faction and or Unit) and play as a member of a GROUP. Fix community warfare....solo players have their que, 2-11 players have their ques, 12 mans should have our community warfare.
Thank you for your time.

Yeah, when he says "solo" he means "PUG" in this one.
