Just replying to add that in my case at least, the "don't care" votes I made for which mechs should be tackled first is more a "I don't have a preference".

why not get them as part of achievements?

Winning a game with a kill but no damage to yourself = undamaged skin unlocked.
Liquid metal achievement = very melted and burned and filled with holes unlocked
surviving a game with less then 20% condition = lots of bulet holes and stuff. etc.

At the moment, they can only give this sort of texture as either a camo pattern or decals. Camo patterns are too expensive, decals aren't implemented yet. :(

I really like this idea. I'd be more conservative about giving them out though. Because custom geo is certainly expensive, only big and challenging achievements should reward a custom geo pattern.

The problem with the raven is that would create a bit to much of a geometry change that it would affect the hitbox greatly.

Having a hooked beak on the raven is a tiny hitbox tweak compared to, say, the madcat's dynamic side torso boxes (or absence of them). I'm sure PGI games can manage :^)

Custom leg guards and spurs would be nice. I miss the long spurs the Timber Wolf and Mad Dog had.

+1 great thread! PGI this is what I want to spend mc on. In fact, buying some now while it's on sale expecting you to do this quickly because it's such a good idea.

Please make the general accessories (radar dish, antennae, ammo pouches) usable on all mechs.

I have no idea how this works, but have you tried logging off and on again? Sometimes there are cookie issues on this forum, I think.

I kept getting an error if I didn't answer each poll question. Not sure if that gives everyone problems but as soon as I had a check next to each question it submitted fine.

Well getting worn out and damage isn't really custom geo to a degree- it's more like a skin ontop of a skin- and this won't be to much effort, you take the damage 'skins' of that mech already damaged and simply give it a better look of being batter worn and finalise it.

You can still apply any skin you want and any colours and it can also work on already custom geo mechs for eg loyalty mechs, the packages and heroes, etc.... well if it can be added for heroes, it will be odd for the misery...

Also being conservative about it is a good idea- but tell me.

Getting a kill, decent damage, but 100% condition to your mech? half the time a mech humps me near the start and I'm already down to 98%.
getting top damage in the game, surviving, and having only head, CT, and leg as your remaining components while all the other ones blew up?
I still do not have this achievement regardless of there being a skin for it or not.
The 40% condition, 30% condition, and 20% condition could be like the previous but more and more warn where the liquid metal achievement is the 'ultimate' skin with more melty effects and extreme damage on it (nearly equal to misery).

Either way, I do not see this as extremely special stuff giving out for free- most of the time you will be no different to your best budy after 2 minutes of combat and most people will not notice it as they expect you got into battle early or they are to far away to care.

refer to above. To a degree it's a camo ontop of a camo which is already done on some mechs in light details and heavily on the misery

yes, but it does make the hitbox better- in a way this is a 'pay to win' enhancement as it is behind a MC wall and also it improves an already very hard mech to kill to make it harder on top of that but PGI said only minor things (ie things that do not change hitbox at all)

Those are all special camo textures, it's probably not something that PGI can easily apply to all mechs. And while I understand that people want different textures and decals and all that, it's not what this thread is about.

I wonder how many more responses and votes in any direction this thread would have gotten in General Discussion?

Do you have any idea what polls would do to in the General Discussion forum? Chaos. Anarchy. The end of civilization as we know it. We can't risk it.

Hopefully, the responses in this thread are enough to get this feature worked on anyway. PGI has got the message, now it's just a matter of priorities.

C-bills for some basic upgrades, mc for the rest ( like the paints, basics for c-bills and mc for the rest )

Yes to all the cosmetic upgrades.

Don't care for what mech to go first in all categories except for IS assault: Atlas glowing eyes ;)

I agree, there should definitely be some basic upgrades for C-bills. It could be quite expensive, I don't care. There should be something to spend C-bills on besides modules and mechs.

I messaged Tina and got a response. She basically said the same thing as the OP. Custom geometry will take awhile and so they want to gauge the interest in it to see if it's worth doing.
