Facts, not conjecture. And the facts - and history of previous decisions - do not bode well.

there's some impressive irony in that statement.....

Again, look to the past for clues on what to expect in the future.

A few values might shift around on the quirks here and there, and the really huge values like +1000% twist speed will be gone, but I'm not expecting it to be modified to any large extent.

Sadly these are my feelings as well. Over the years PGI is has proved themselves to be pretty rigid in terms of balance and quirk iterations. I'm just hoping that Russ will scrap the whole thing due to backlash at this point.

Speak for yourself.

I haven't spent that much on this game total because of long-term questions about balance and quality, and I haven't spent a dime or even bought a mech with cbills since they started promising this insane "change everything!" Unbalancing months ago. Why? Because I fully expected poorly balance crud to be the result, though I have to admit, what went up on the test server surpassed even my lowest expectations.

I'm saying if all of you are so mad at this game, for so long, instead of just standing around talking, you should man up, put your money where your mouth is and take your ball and go home.

Maybe that will send the message that your staying here and crying, hasn't.

Got no problem with people being critical and having opinions. Do have a problem with people making a huge stink but not actually having the conviction to follow through with their threats and leave.

Mass exodus, PGI crashes and burns, you get what you want, right? Has been what Vass and crew have been after for 3 years or more. Do it.

Multiple insults all up and down the thread and telling people to leave your game.

Dude, you need to learn that a high post count does not make you good or an expert at this game. Defending PGI to the last isn't gonna do you much good if everybody does leave the game like you've been telling them.

Do yourself a favor, get off the forums and throw a tantrum somewhere private.

Then come back and express your opinion without throwing a hissy fit because the crowd doesn't agree with you.

Scrap the quirkening, start over from Quirk Pass 1, try again.....

Try another approach besides quirkening..

The PTS load is a system test. The numbers will be wrong. The game mechanics will be borked. It is unlikely to be the final release. Complaining about it is like declaring a car as being unfit for use because it consists of four wheels and an unpunched sheet of metal that haven't been assembled yet. Worse case, if PGI messes up, the community can work with them to fix it. What's the big deal?

Again, the past is prologue. How many times has PGI in the past promised "Big Things!" and then delivered something that the community warned them against? How's CW going, what with the focus solely on what big teams want and the total lack of anything other than pretty little names stuck on pretty little planets while we kill Oooooooh! generators?

To use the car analogy, this is not a car still being modeled by the engineering team. This is either an "upgrade" to a 2-year old car that blows the engine up (but they'll fix it for the next iteration) or the public released alpha car at the Detroit Auto Show - that blows up when started. Either way, you have to wonder about the company that releases such a product for review, even if it is not yet finished.

i would rather PGI Push forward and Try new things to make the game Great,
than PGI not add anything but mechs Packs and let MWO slowly die,

Sadly Sarlic i believe a believe a good number of us have stopped buying mech packs/premium time, if the changes in the unit i belong to are any indication of the rest of the community :( ( 175 members only 30ish active (barely) anymore with maybe a handful or less that use RL money)

i used to love buying mech packs and looking forward to playing them

Well, if changes like these go live, you won't have to worry about MWO SLOWLY dying.

Change is not always good.

Guys we knew it was gonna be a wash for the first test, it was Inevitable,
Russ in the Townhall, said that it wasnt ready, but he wanted the MWO community to see it,
to try it out, Russ wanted OUR feed back, this is the most open about Balance PGI has ever been,
so the question is can WE the MWO community handle this as Constructive Adults,

Yeah, but how many of them left because their precious Clan Mechs weren't uber OP anymore? Seems like the biggest exodus was back when they dialed back the TBR and SCR a tiny bit. It would be easier to take seriously if so many Deltas hadn't been so overreactionary about that.

He already stated as much, and was going to post some changes supposedly before the PTS reopens on Monday. They already said the balance changes weren't going to make the 9-22 patch before the server was even opened.

But what does it matter? Same people are just going to light dumpster fires, no matter what.

sadly so many people dont want to feel inferior but also dont want things to change for the better(better Balance)
Example- My Laser Balance Idea
Concept= (1Damage = 0.18Duration)(1Heat = 70m Range)
Table,........Weapon,...Damage,...Duration,...Heat,... Range,...
Current,... IS-ML.............5,.............0.90,........4,.........280m,...
Current,... C-ER-ML,.......7,.............1.15,........6,.........420m,...
New,......... IS-ML,............5,.............0.90,........4,.........280m,...
New,......... C-ER-ML,.......7,.............1.28,........6,.........420m,...
Eventual,. IS-ER-ML,.......5,.............0.90,........6,.........420m,...
so with the new Balance C-ER-ML will gain +0.13Duration +15Range,
and Tech Balance is Achieved and is even Achieved for IS-ER-MLs, :)

No, they said these changes would not go live before oct. These changes don't include weapon rebalance. These changes remove all weapon quirks. I'm looking for confirmation that until weapon balance is done the pts patch won't go live.

Not related to this, directly, but

just gonna quote myself from another post...hardly exhaustive, but at least it's objective, as opposed to most of the QQ in here

Stuffs I like:
-New River City Map
-New Forest Colony Map (though sad no ewoks to shoot)
-Urbanmech
-Mauler in game model
-Marauder announcement
-Scrapping Elo for PSR
-New Mechlab
-Plans with HBS
-CW Progress
-Changes to balance and Quirks
-Rate of Maps Added?Revised

Stuffs I didn't like:
-Transverse (was that this year or last? I forget now, lol)
-CW Progress (still too 1 dimensional)
-No Deputy Dawg Urbanmech Hero
- No Mechs of the Month
-Crappy Heroes
-Slow progress on balance/quirks, specifically on lower tier Omnis
-mild regression on Forum Communication

So some good, and some bad.

But at least, unlike some, there IS good to look at.

and should probably add, not really enamored of the last several Packs, period. Or the laservomit Meta. Do like the overall improvement to hitreg...don't like that it seems to be hit and miss....etc

There are rumors to the contrary of the "50 Shades of Bullock" variety. I don't judge.

I'll ask myself. Just gun shy. Last time I tweeted him Twitter said I should listen to what Taylor Swift and Kanye West had to say as it seemed to match my interests. My world view shifted without a clutch.

I'm sure. I remember getting a good chuckle eavesdropping on some certain former Forum Luminaries having to go out of their way to Butthurt QQ about me on Reddit and the SC Forums.

Kids these days.

More to the point, I dislike trying to run 3rd person conversations, when you can actually get your own pint across more clearly and quickly.
