I really want that one myself, but that is a _lot_ of cash to splurge on a game. Haven't been able to convince myself yet.
When I was a kid growing up I'd read the sourcebooks and think "man, it'd be so cool to be a character in one of these games."
Had to jump on it when the chance arose.

I wouldn't wear anything MechWarrior related. My MechCommander preorder shirt from 1996 or whatever and my MechWarrior Online launch party t-shirts are shirts my wife wears to bed.

Not a fan of stylized flight jackets or most gear but I own a plain black one by Alpha. Live in a cooler climate, feels great.
Of course I chill with punks and skinheads so fashion-wise it isn't a problem looking like the 80s. lol.

But I regularly dress like it's 1989 anyway, so it's right up my alley.

Maybe a free roam for some maps by any chance? I'd like to just go out into the deep recesses of the map with my lance, It's a thing I used to do in some MechWarrior/Battletech games.

It won't use hexes?
Where did you find that out?
How will it work then?
Well, may or may not.
They were thinking no hexes or square, free flowing if they could; or squares/hexes if they couldn't.
I think I'd prefer hexes, but we'll see how it goes. One of the LiveStreams.

Huh.
I'm still hoping we get hexes, though.
I like hexes.

using hexes is understandable for TT. But why not use today's powerful PC to make something awesome?

Lack of hexes was one of the better features of the clix game and one of the finer points of play for custom terrain rules in CBT. Computers are powerful enough where things can be done using linear distances without sacrificing speed of play and like in the clix game offer an entire dimension of strategy that comes with such fine fractional control. Combine with skidding rules for fast movers from CBT (one of the places hexes are better than no hexes) and you have seriously in depth control. But that is also some serious dev time. We don't have skidding in MWO where by rights, lights moving at 150 kph should be slipping and falling or sliding into stuff all the time.
Do not tell me there are still only 2 backers willing to part with $10k. Not when HBS and gone through the trouble adding two more slots to Legendary Commander and an additional five slots for Legendary 'Mechwarrior.

I wouldn't think It would be too hard to to move away from hexes if they really wanted to, there were the nonhexbased miniatures rules included for as long as i can remember after all. Either way i'll be ok with it.
