100% THIS!
STOCK!

Mechs are already customed: they are called variants

True, true.
PvP (especially with high amount of customization in mechbay) would lead to boring min/maxing and meta-building.

You know? Like in MWO, right now.

I know, it's going to sound blasphemous, but i'd love if Battletech had stock mechs only
Or at least very minimal customization. Because the more customization you give, the less variety you end up with, because there's always one or two, *optimal* ways to do things and people always gravitate towards them

Tabletop customization rules. Including the potential for failure in the customization and thus giving the mech negative overall qualities through multiple attempts.

That's what I'd like to see. And with that engine changes are more restricted than what we have in MWO. Same with how the weapons are setup.

People that get their jollies by min/maxing will always find a way. Force them to use stock mechs, and they'll gravitate towards those that are the most optimized in the their stock form. Even stock battlemechs have their 'metas'.

Anyway, mech customization is too popular for them to disregard it as an option. It's been present since the TT game, and in pretty much every video game iteration that's been released. It's actually less likely they'll do a stock only mode than the adverse.

I just want continuous campaign and all its goodies and I will be very happy. That way I can play through the campaign story and then over to the endless refining of my merc company :)

The game still needs balance though. I am curious how they're going to work that out. Some TT balance was awful.

Good thing that 3025 is easily the most balanced state Battletech ever was.

Also a good thing that it's a turn-based game and they don't have to worry about such things like "high-mounted hardpoints", "geometry" or "hitboxes"

True.

They still have plans to introduce clans someday. Well i think its better as a option as a pack (as they want it i believe) and make it as a toggle feature when you bought the pack.

With clans as an expansion, they could do something similar to MW2 and keep it Clan vs Clan. That way the tech is OP, but balanced for both sides of the conflict.

Maybe have it take place before the invasion of the Inner Sphere. Is there a conflict around that time period where one Clan absorbed another through a series of battles and trials? An expansion dealing with a conflict like that might be an interesting take on it. If not, we could always do the Refusal War that came much later between Clan Wolf and Jade Falcon.

Well, they've also said it won't be an exact port, and there's things that Jordan wishes he'd done differently. So balance could easily be there.

One thing they specifically mentioned was Ammo Explosions.

Good. It always bothered me that the most damaging thing that could ever happen to a mech was loading it with 1 ton MG ammo and a freak shot critically hitting it.

Tell me about it. Not to mention how much ammo an MG gets, for no apparent reason.

But the same is true for all the smaller ones, just not quite to that extent.

Nope hadn't seen that yet.

I'll be taking a picture of my bookshelves at home packed with BT, MW and Dark Age books. Plus all the TRO's and Faction Handbooks.

Oh and I should put up my metric crapton of Dark Age figurines too.

Why is it always only Twitter? Lots of BT stuff here, but I won't make a Twitter account just to post that

Because for better or for worse Twitter is one of the biggest social media sites in the world, and they are trying to raise more awareness for their kickstarter.

Outside of this kickstarter, I've had an account to use during major NHL days, like Free Agency, Draft, Trade Deadline. Thats it. Otherwise my twitter account is alone and forgotten.

the last 2-3 days will see the fence sitters like me to push the number to the 1.85 mill i suspect. I am still sitting on the fence as without an extended campaign i am thinking the SP game will be really short ala the original Shadowrun release , paying $50 for a 12 hour game does not interest me tbh. Without modding and multiple campaigns from the extended merc campaign , this is iffy on the money spent.

Looking at the parabola :
https://www.kicktraq...-exp-projection

or at the hyperbole:
https://www.kicktraq...chart-exp-trend

I think we'll end with 2 million.
We should have the stage 3.
I'm sad for the PVP...

It's stupid easy... really. Take your picture, have it ready to upload, register, upload, send, BAM! Probably less than 10 minutes and then you don't need to use it again. Or just log in for the next couple (Which will also be Twitter only, apparently)

I don't use it outside of things like these backer missions either, so functionally, I barely know I have it!
