I find it too expensive for digital goods.

Good update though.

Traffic have been decreased alot to this topic

Hey Jason Korwes! >>>neat idea for in-game digital reward<<<
First, nothing is free. :) But beyond that, we’re not keen on any reward that gives any sort of gameplay options or advantages only to Backers. The cosmetic stuff like special paint schemes is a different animal and we’re working on ideas like that, though.
Hey Christopher Jones! >>>mercenary groups to the Noble House Scion level pledge? <<<
We’d love to but it’s actually a big financial issue, Christopher. We’re pushing it already. Most manufactures of… stuff… have minimum order quantities. So the more options we offer, the less Backers per per option and the higher the price. So while we’d love to offer more options, it would actually hurt the project to do so. Hopefully, we’ll get the rights to sell this stuff in the future. We have some ideas how we can make it work for everyone.
@Martello >>>can we have the awesome robot lady voice from MechWarrior 2 yell "ATLAS," "CATAPULT," "JENNER," and so on? That would really make the game for me. 100% serious.<<<
You guys help me track her down and I’ll see what I can do. 100% serious.

Well, we are about $5k from $1.8m.

Who knows, we might hit $1.85m during the weekend. At its old rate of $18k-ish, we were a bit off, but yesterday saw a big bump $32k, so who knows.

I'm just curious what they have in mind for the stretch goals.

By my math we are at $1,816,599 right now. If we have another good day and a paypal update could hit the $1.85 million goal very soon.

Very happy to, having fun talking about the game here.
We're pretty early in prototyping, so it'll be quite a while before we're ready to Beta. As a total guess - about a year from now.

Customizable dropship hype!

But is it weird, that i'm not TOO excited for the "legendary mechwarriors"? I mean, sure it would be pretty cool to hire the Bounty Hunter with his Marauder (or more specifically Natasha's marauder), but it would just feel weird to me.

Again, i'd much rather have a full 3025 mech roster.

Personally, I'm hoping for co-op mode of some kind after the PVP goal is hit

There is currently a war of words in the comment section between some people about wether or not the commander character should be a mechwarrior himself or a deskjockey commanding only from the dropship.

As far as I'm concerned the commander of a small, ragtag mercenary unit better put his posterior in the driver's seat of a mech alongside his men and women. Who does he think he is? Hanse Davion or Takashi Kurita? I can't think of a single instance from the lore, particularly in the 3025 era, where the commanders of the merc units didn't fight alongside their men, particularly in the smaller ones. Hell, even Jaime Wolf (Wolf's Dragoons) and Grayson Carlyle (Gray Death Legion) and Morgan Kell (Kell Hounds) piloted their mechs.

This is a tough decision.
With field commanders, the campaign effectively ends when the protagonist dies (when, not if in battletech).
On the other hand you lose immersion if your character isn't in the spotlight, or if there is rotating command.
I can see it going either way, maybe "ironman" mode will feature pilot-captain and default will be armchair quarterback.

Or they just go the traditional way of the merc: If your boss dies, you are the new leader of the troup. Or with the words of the dropship captain from MW2Mercs intro:
"Look at the bright side kid: You get to keep aaall the money!" :D

So basically as long as you have at least one Mechwarrior left on the field, the campaign continues. Since I guess the "commander" as such doesn't get any skills, this shouldn't be a problem.

Can't wait to see the first results of this game. Already earned a nice amount of financial help. So this really could get interesting.

Marauder and Warhammer have been added to the mechlist of the game! Right... PGI, you guys need to get right on desiging the Phoenix Hawk so HBS can add that to Battletech as well! This is not a request. This is me begging shamelessly.

Thankfully they have some time to do it lol

I would love to get in on this but I cannot justify more after doing $50 initially and then the $140 for the digital copies of the books.
