I use SRMs on a lot of my mechs and even with 250-300 ping I've never really had an issue with hit-reg since the "Buckton Fix" or whatever it was called.
That said, a small buff for spread and velocity would be nice, but I don't think we need anything drastic like damage buffs. TTK is already very low, and I'd rather reduce the effectiveness of other weapons (eg lasers) before racing to get everyone killed quicker

SRMs have nearly as many limitations as Machine Guns and Flamers; only major difference being constant fire VS FLD.

1) Hitreg
2) Max range = 2x optimal range with damage falloff
3) Missile Spread / Pattern (That awesome spiraling flight pattern that became lostech would be fantastic to have back)
4) Flight speed increase
5) Heat/Damage/Recycle time buffs if deemed necessary
6) Bonus: Have missiles vaguely follow crosshair.

I would suspect your connection long before I suspected Hitreg issues. Video or not, this has literally never happened to me.

I saw at least two volleys hit dead on, and it appeared to deal no damage. Quality isn't all that low (and I watched it in small format from the forums).
After watching from Youtube in larger view:
- First volley dealt damage to CT.
- Second volley dealt damage to right side torso. (Edit: Second volley did nothing.)
- Third shot. Hits, and seems to deal no damage at all.
- Fourth round hit the leg, and did no damage.
- Fifth blast finally killed the Nova.

Your 100% right. I have had 3 ML and 2 SRM 4's on my Raven 3L since I got it. Took them off recently because they were not doing damage. Match after match. No damage or very little, I dont know because it never changed any armor color for a long while match after match. Changed to 3 MPL and 2 Streak 2's. Way better. WAY. Although some of the Arctic Cheetas are avoiding damage nicely even now. Took an enemy artillery strike meant for me to take one out recently lol. It got me to though.

Yet you have tunnel vision on the weapon you want buffing .
If hit detection was fixed atleast they'd be good at brawling .
Flamers and machineguns are just garbage, And lrms aren't worth it anymore too heavy to slow to little damage and spread damage to many counters to weak in every aspect, Massively inferior to every other weapon.
the 3 weapon systems that desperately need buffing are
LRM's
MG's
Flamers
The weapons that need a little buff
AC10s
LBX
Clan ACS
SRM's
IS streaks
The weapons that need a TINY buff
AC20
The weapons that need more drawbacks so they aren't almost no brainers
Gauss
lasers.
Stop trying to get your preference fixed when so much needs fixing weapon balance wise a lot of weapons are in a much worse place then srns,

I didn't notice the one leg taking damage, but maybe there are other people shooting it?
Either way the thing is immortal while moving, and suddenly dies to the first hit as soon as it overheats.
Hit reg woes are totally still in the game.

Yep, totally only want a single weapon system buffed. Not most of the underperformers.
All are easy changes, none will ever happen.
LBx fixes are as easy as changing the 2 to a 5, or the 1 to a 1.3-1.5

Part of me wanted one faction to be like that (but less damage, more accuracy) while the other was similar to what we have now, but more powerful.

I believe your med lasers hit the leg and side torso, exposing those components. Even some of your laser shots weren't properly registering either from what I saw (and it happens to me in game too).

There is a known bug where sometimes the damage registers properly but the paper doll doesn't properly update.
Not sure which one happened there.

If the damage had registered properly, than by the 3rd volley the Nova should have been dead. At least what I would think when 20 SRMs (40 damage) is colliding with it so much. Even if it spreads a bit...
