I don't have any particular nostalgia for the unseens but the little voice in the back of my head is saying "ooh, go on..." about this one (it said 'eh, maybe for Cbills' about the others). There's something about the look of the model.

That said, I think I'll wait until I see an in game shot before I even think about giving in to the voice -- once those arms are in 'fight' position I might like it less.

I'm sorry but actually, no. Having a nice ac10 boostick works rather well on many of my non uber quirked mechs. 65 tons, with SRMs, lasers, JJs and an AC10? Solid mobile brawler.

They really need to give the Catapult two extra hardpoints for it to compete with the Archer.

Catapult needs hardpoint upgrade to bring it upto par with the other mechs.

C1 should have 4 energy and 4 missile
C4 should have 2 energy and 6 missile
A1 should have 8 missile
K2 should have 6 energy and 2 ballistic

I said crusader > rifleman > phoenix hawk after the warhammer, was a bit off, but the box itself never lies.

I keep saying, surely PGI won't release yet another consecutive heavy, they must come to their senses and release the Phoenix Hawk next. I've been saying that since the Warhammer, and been wrong every time.

So my guess now is the next one will be the Crusader. Why? Because PGI.

Issue is, it's only available on the one you can only buy with real money. Nobody *could* complain if one of the other variants also had it. I'm fine with it since it has the fewest missile slots, so not as bad for long range missile sniping.

I'm liking that the energy mounts are so high. Assuming the two green dots are the energy points. That means a nice high mount TAG. Something the Catapult lacks.

Assuming nothing changes, I can pretty much tell you they're going to end up sitting just a hair below the cockpit and thus will be great for hill-humping.

Pay 2 be unique or pay2win?

Until you (or someone) prove to me that this is going to be a premier comp tier heavy and that no free heavy mech is going to be able to compete with this ECM Archer, then I really don't think there is much of an argument for P2W. ECM alone does not make a mech great, especially when you can take other free heavy mechs with ECM.

So far the updated mechs look excellent. The question is, how will the light mechs be redone.

I missed out of getting the early bird rewards for the Marauder. Looking forward to the Phoenix Hawk now.

Yeah I noticed that after I asked, maybe that side depth is still in flux or something.

I like where the arm mounts are going to be, everything just about at or above cockpit level really puts all those nay-sayers about the cockpit location in their place IMO.
