How it works: print, cut vertically and glue together the two halves of the mechs. You can either use a support or let the lower part opened to use as a base.
PS: new Periphery faction image.

PS: I was not expecting "The Purple Ones" (Mariks) to be that good...

Did you have the trouble to read one paragraph of the first post?
I know there is a Battletech card game. I know there is a Battletech board game. This is something different.

So since your medium could be seen as infringing on either Catalyst's or WotC's rights that would be the problem. The images would also be an issue but PGI does not seem to have a problem with it so that's good. Although I'd have a chat with their legal department first before comercializing.
Considering how he's doing this for free I don't think Catalyst will break out the WHAP sticks any time soon.
I've seen modifications and outright different campaign systems made by fans on the Catalyst boards.
Their stance has been "Does it make you money? No then it's not a paddlin'. If you're making money then that's a paddlin'."
Well that's the stance I've seen for a few years. It is basically free advertisement for them and it shows the world this gaming Universe isn't dead if someone pours this much time and energy into it.
I'm not sure how WoTC would feel, but I hope they have a similar mindset.
It looks interesting. I'll see about reading the rules when I get home and give some more input later.
