Bullies and synch dropping are the biggest problem in MechWarrior online currently for both the group queue and faction map. Read any of 100 topics to see the complaints... Luckily there is obvious additions that can be made and likely are already in the works.
Well to be honest, CW was meant for Unit play. So if people are dropping solo and getting their butts handed to them by Units, then its kind of hard to sympathize too much.
The 2 things I dont like are 1- That Units who claim to be in CW for the 'End Game' competition/hard mode, can actually avoid each other and choose to farm pugs (or at least try to), and 2 - New players easily farmed.
But I think it might work out a little better in Phase 3. Phase 3 is supposed to greatly narrow attack lanes. So instead of the 10ish planets we see now, it will be 3 or 4 instead.
And the options of who to attack or be attacked from are supposed to be based on Lore. Who your factions enemies are according to Lore
Which will make it harder for Units to avoid each other and will probably lead to more Pug vs Pug matches too. Which is good for everyone I think.
But I still think that New Players shouldnt be able to que for CW right out of the gate.. For their own sake
