No; you do not represent me. Don't tell the developers to remove brand new content from the game I am playing just because you don't like it.
You have a map vote. Use it. And if you get stuck on the new map, you have trenches. Use them.
Don't act like you have the right to represent me and DEMAND for content to be removed.

Well, all non missiles can. Don't boat missiles only. If you see a UAV and dont shoot it down when its possible for you to do so, you are playing the game wrong. Obviously only when in cover from enemies, but.. see a UAV, make it a priority to get rid of it - back up if needs be so you can shoot it from cover, but DONT ignore it.
you forgot about IS ML and certain small lasers cant. Obviously its range dependent.

"The map is too big for slow mechs!" - Take a faster mech if that bothers you.
"LRM's are everywhere!" - Equip AMS.
"There's no way to hide from the LRM's!" - There are trenches everywhere; use them in conjunction with Radar Deprivation, and lock-breaking becomes very easy.
"Someone is spotting me! I can't break the LRM lock!" - In case it wasn't obvious, SHOOT THEM.
"I've been NARCed, this is unfair!" - That light mech pilot made a significant investment, in terms of weight and critical space, to carry that NARC launcher and its beacons, and he made a gamble that he would not only get a map that permitted its use, but that he would also have teammates who paid attentio when he NARCed people. To counter this, did YOU make YOUR loadout investment, in AMS? If not, then you have only yourself to blame.

Your entire team is not using nothing but those lasers, in the same sense that not everyone on your team has forgone arm-mounted weaponry (arm-mounted weapons are much easier to use when shooting down UAV's from closer ranges). It is the entire team's responsibility to keep watch for UAV's.

Heck, last night, positioned with my team, I got narced and started taking a bunch of LRM fire. No cover and our only ECM mech was a good ways off on his own do to "squirrel!". I slowly ran the trench for him while twisting like crazy. Was lucky to run past another mech with AMS which augmented my own, very overwhelmed ams. I thought our ECM mech was actually being helpful as he was running towards me but then blew right past... lol Needless to say I was pretty well shredded and had lost much of my firepower but was lucky there were no pure boats.
So yeah, in the land of unorganized pugs LRMs CAN be a potent weapon on Polar. Still, I'm liking the map and it's a breath of fresh air. Although sadly it does tank my FPS more than others. Time to get around to upgrading.

Why should someone play the mech you want them to play?

So waste tonnage for one poorly designed map??

Rad. Derp does nothing when most LRM boats have the target module. Plus slow mechs cant get to cover fast enough, if they can even find cover....

chase the squirrel?? totally viable tactic......

Everyone knows once they are NARC'd they're ****** unless they can get to cover...which there isnt much on this map.

Since when do PUGs care about their teammates!! The games about cbills man!

This is exactly how most of the assaults are dying on my teams. One UAV they cant see or they get NARC'd and they're dead!

It's wide open, no where to hide.. Took my LRM boat on it to get my 2x xp.. Without even breaking a sweat i did over 1200 dmg. Did you guys seriously think a flat map is a good idea?
I love this map.
I love Alpine peaks.
In my opinion your problems with this, and Alpine Peaks stems from your apparent penchant for LRM boating. Reliance on computer guided weaponry, especially on maps where people who have ranges beyond 1000 meters, and can aim, mean YOU will more often than not, end up very dead, very quickly.
I have no sympathy for people who aren't aiming for themselves...

-An early commenter said (roughly): "Radar Deprivation is pretty much standard on all mechs these days". Well, for pretty much every new players first month or two in the game, at 6 million C-Bills a pop, no, no it isn't. I kinda dread ending up on Caustic or the new map and seeing a lot of LRM on the enemy team.
-New players don't have a lot of mechs, may not possess a single ECM mech, and certainly don't have all those mechs elited, tweaked, or maxed out builds (some of my mechs I had to play stock while basicing them, DHS/endo or engine upgrades just not possible at that time).
-New players don't know every cover spot in all the maps or where they need to avoid because it turns out to be an easily spotted location with no cover for a long stretch.
Not a complaint, just an observation that a lot of people have an auto-response of 'oh LRMs, no problem, just avoid them, RaDerp, wear 2 AMSs, always stay near cover' etc.
During the entire period that every new player in the game is forming his/her opinion of whether they enjoy the game (or not), most of these aren't really options. In that case, ending up on an LRM-friendly map too often may well be a significant downside.

This is a poor troll right? You know how you beat LRMs? Break line of sight. How do you break line of sight? Use the trenches... Tell your lights to go on a wide loop to GET their LRM boats. The map is big enough to let you do that.
If you're spamming LRMs well good on you. The map is not flat, there is plenty to hide behind and lots of undulation. If the enemy team does not use it, well that's their fault, not the maps. You should be asking for players to be better aware of the map, not blaming the map for players.

Why are you leaving the UAVs up? If the enemy don't shoot them down, why exactly are you complaining? Surely that's a good thing for you in that case?
They work the same way on this map as they do every other map. UAVs have not changed.
In if I recall one of the things I love doing on Canyon network in an LRM boat is dropping UAVs around the middle and then making it rain. It's no different.

Yes, AMS is a viable option. I make a calculated risk whenever I don't equip AMS.
No, Polar Highlands is not poorly designed.

I do find it interesting that this map -launched in conjunction with the Warhammer release- is pretty bad for the Warhammer if you are running your big guns in the arms. Flat my a$s. I have shot a lot of inclined terrain on this "flat" "featureless" map.
