You don't have to play LRM60 boat to play this map. You just have to use your brain in order to avoid LRMs, destroy UAV, always have a look behind for spotters... You know ? Play wisely with your teammates and your own chassis ?

Thanks to prove us that you don't understand the mechanics of the game, the general strategy, and how to adapt yourself.

We play to a game where there is different maps on different planets. There is not Buildings, cliffs and big walls on each planets of the universe. It's a fact. This map is far more realistic than the others, who looks like big arena for giant walking mechs (like HPG, or Viridian).

The map is great, it brings something to the table we never had in any of the other maps

It is de-centric, nothing a stupid hive mind can circle around, it has rolling hills, just enough cover to survive if your IQ is higher then the temperature around you.

The only problem are the users who are used to shittty maps and wont be able to adapt and will cry foul and make threads like this.

So the biggest problem will be, how will PGI make the other maps as good as this one or do we have to delete every other one except this?

I like the new map. Most maps are now brawl range.

When you have LRM problems..Check out an X5 with ERLL.....you outrange LRM Mechs!!!

Quite nice map, but imo it could use slightly more cover. I only dropped on it 4 times, but all 4 times was in mid-to-close range mechs. Once we got a brawl going, that was fun. The other three times the other team had range and we had 50:50 so we were losing long range trading and there was not enough incentive in the group to close the gap so we had to split and end up rolfed.

Since it's so frequent now I will not dare to drop in mid-close range mechs anymore, at all. That's the main drawback for me. Otherwise the design is cool... I love the no funneling part. Love! But it could be just a tiny bit easier to close range and/or flank imo.

Polar is awesome. One of the best maps in-game. Sure, it sucks to play it 10 times in arow, but that goes for every other map too.

I like the new map. Plenty of cover, good visibility, no godforsaken fog (fps thief), no invisible tripping hazards, my mech didn't get stuck on any small rocks and I didn't have any trouble climbing into or out of the sides of any of the deep trenches. Some of those trenches are pretty deep, almost Canyon map deep, can easily hide an assault lance as they move into position. I do shake my head at all the pilots that just cruise across the top surface, skylining themselves for 2000+ meters. That's just asking for it. But if you use the trenches, then the <evil> snipers and LRM boats won't be able to see you. Even the shallow trenches can hide you from view. If they can't see you, they can't lurm you.

I only had time to play a few games last night, most were on Polar. Had a couple of nice brawls by using the land features to get close. I did have to bonzai charge on one to a quick end at the opener, I ran out of beer and had to go get more.

Loving the new map even when NARCed and killed instantly (at last a reason to use NARC).

Would love to see a CW game on this map. Just place a small town (for cover and ambushes) in one part of the map with the objective and leave it to the attackers to decide a line of attack
