Same. I fell in love with it in the MW3 intro (my first BT/MW exposure), but then...IT WASN'T IN THE GAME!! I never got the expansions so I had to wait until MW4 to actually pilot one. Was enormously successful in the Trial 'mech (I started two months ago), then bought my own AS7-RS and...nothing.
In the MW3 campaign I ran a lance of 4 Vultures. Ahhh, the days without hardpoint restrictions! I just loved the look and the way it felt. I finally got the 'mech to work by running the 6xCALRM5's, but it doesn't feel TRUE to the Prime. My ennui after buying my MDD has kept me from buying the Orion.
This, but for my Pirate's Bane.
Ah the glorious Locust. I cut my teeth on the JR7, then went Locust and it was glorious, oh the speed. Then I started working on heavies and assaults and now I go back to a Locust and I'm instadead.
Now this one, I have no nostalgia for it, but I just want to master it. It is so quirky (not quirked) and I want to figure it out because it eludes me. If I break 54 damage in it I'm pretty happy.
MW3 I ran Novas and Bushwackers (Novas with 10 IS Mlasers, and the Bushwackers had 2x ac10 and lots of ammo) and would usually load all my teammates up with pure LRM hell. Then later campaigns, it was 4 Annihilators, mine with 4x C-ERPPC and a 400 engine, one of the guys with 4x Gauss, and the other 2 running some type of LRM100s.

Vindicator 1AA without a doubt. Used to feel fun piloting this thing, but I just can't enjoy it anymore. Doesn't help that I now own a 2LPL Shadowcat and that thing shits all over the Vindi.

Here here. I love it death.
There's one variant with a certain loadout that I rock at. But i really wish it could PPC better. But that's more about the issues with PPCs rather than the vindicator. I love how the Vindicator looks. mmm. It's my little soldier.
doesn't help that VNDs get essentially zero agility love, so they handle worse than a lot of Heavy Mechs, when it comes to acceleration and such. I find my VNDs all but unplayable except as poptarts now, overall. The 1AA, SIB and 1R will stay in my stable, awaiting the day they are allowed to not utterly suck (simply returning to their original degree of suckitude would be enough to play them again)
