And it is super damn annoying. "We are getting flanked guys, D4 is hot, turn around!" said 10 times, no one on minimap even shifts their mech. Team proceeds to get over run. Jesus christ this is getting frusterating being the first and only one to see these things happening. And it is happening all the time!

Hehe sad part is the 90% might but just don't care because they can get an easy kill.

Why I don't care what happens in pug games.

And then they complain on forums about how they are being constantly f'd on a specific map by a specific weapon...

The thing is that a couple of players might very well see and understand but since the rest of the team seems oblivious they wait because no one wants to be the first into the meat grinder.

I do it myself. 8 of my guys are buzy with a Locust and the entire enemy assault lance comes stomping around the corner from behind, I get the hell out of Dodge and join the Locust hunters if I can. I tried to save the team one to many times resulting in me dead with no kills and no c-bills to show for my effort so now I am looking out for #1.

Invisible Butt Doritos are the worst Doritos. Even worse than Cool Ranch.

I don't think it has anything to do with map awareness - I think a lot of players just don't care. To me it seems there are way too many players that are just flat out careless. Whether it's leaving assaults behind, moving to far forward and getting hit by the entire other team and dying to getting flanked and no one looks or listens...

A lot of players simply just don't care.

Exactly this, only for me it's when I'm in my Atlas and there are people on the team that want to push. And of course... They specifically want an assault to push that can take some damage. Well I've pushed plenty with and countless times I push and get my butt handed to me while the rest of the team barely moved a step... Why would I want to push like?

This, pretty much. Being the team meatshield round after round isn't terribly fun, and if everyone is too busy chasing that Raven that pranced by 900 meters out or trying to jumpjet up the one hill they always ERLL-snipe from, it takes nothing short of a miracle to get them redirected to the actual threat.

I can't tell you how many times..especially today on the new map where I am like "uh their Charlie lance is coming around...need some help" ..and bam... team keeps moving in same direction fighting a couple mediums...I die...and I say "you guys are all about to get hit from behind by their assaults"....and guess what? They do!! Sweet!! glad to have participated in another 12-4 loss!! And 2 of those kills were from enemy overheating and killing themselves!!

Totally agree here... There is no bounding or lanes of cover with teams no matter how hard to try to establish a line... It is why I like playing in groups that coordinate...instead of running in a cluster towards the inevitable middle of the map death-fest... Lemmingwarrior..... not Mechwarrior...

I had a golden moment yesterday. Oh man, was I irritated about it. On Polar, doing my scout thing. I spot the entire enemy team, manage to get a UAV to assist the two LRM boats and indicate enemy position, and I am constantly relaying intel on VoiP. Constantly. Tapping R whenever I can to try and get the attention of those who are oblivious.

Clearly it all failed. The team ended up getting "over run" by an enemy force that was announced well in advance, stalked by my light mech the entire time giving moment to moment positioning of the OpFor. By "over run," I mean to say they were facing the wrong god damned direction and were somehow surprised when the enemy team appeared exactly. Where. I. Kept. Telling. Them. They. Were. FFS.

Welcome to the Internet! Even better is when an enemy Light mech is standing behind you, but directly in front of one of your lancemates, annihilating your back armor while your teammate tries to poke some guy 700m away with medium lasers. Until you die. Inside.

You played as I believe PGI intended/hoped for when they made this game. Kudos for not fighting. I see a lot of lights that don't understand the scout in scouting. They run off and at the start one can see 2 arrows dancing. even if our mech wins he'll probably be to damaged to be of any use for the rest of the match.

Certainly did me no good. Due to the wall of enemy mechs in front of me, and my team passively sitting on its thumbs, I had no good opportunity to make my attack run for virtually the entire game, until the kill counter was so skewed it was a forgone conclusion.

I think the extra salt on my wound was that the LRM boats that asked for "HOLD LOCKS PLZ" did not even use my UAV which was deployed, highlighting enemies approximately 800 meters from our line - within LRM range. I mean.. come the hell on, really?!
