I'm concerned about the massive codpiece being all CT. That said, the legs appear to be exactly as fat as the torso, so if you can angle them almost 90 degrees to the enemy you should be able to rank with them. Granted you wanna be hill peeking but you know there's always gonna be some time or another you get flanked. And hitboxes make a mech - as much as quirks do if not more.

I'm guessing the point of the Legend Killer's higher mounted points is that it allows it to better snipe with lasers, if the build was changed. That, and it has dual LBX-10s if I remember reading the info on it right.

As for the comment on "It should have target info gathering quirks'....I...actually LIKE that idea! In lore, mechs such as the Rifleman and Jagermech had IMPRESSIVE sensor arrays, that was the point of those big fins up top. Perhaps the quirks should effect the modules to make the mechs fit in lore, no?

What's up with the laser hardpoint placement on the Legend Killer? I think it would look much better if the lasers were like the other variants and had long barrels slung below the ballistics Posted Image

Maybe it's dependent on the size of the AC in the arms? Maybe anything bigger than a Class 5 AC will push the lasers to the top of the arm?

I thought about this earlier, and I think it's because the Legend Killer mounts dual ballistics in the arms. The smaller energy hard point works up top, leaving the larger areas available for the ballistic weapons.

Oh, don't worry. There is IIC variants of unseen mechs, like:
Rifleman IIC
Marauder IIC
Warhammer IIC
and many others IIC mechs. So I won't be surprised if next Caln pack will introduse same unseen machines for clans, so everyone will be happy.

What colors were used for the Special Rifleman and Warhammer? I love the colors! I know the camo scheme is special and not available for MC but that grey+yellowish is great and I dont need those 2000 MC anyway ;)

Rifleman is the predecessor of the jagermech.

Jagermech was made to address chronic overheating and other issues that the Rifleman was plagued by.

You can learn about them here

Jagermech is actually more like Rifleman V2 and not the other way around.

Just keep telling yourself that when you happen upon one outfitted with 2 AC/20's or Gauss.

Heck, I really like the Legend Killer's stock load out.... The armor is abysmal though.... I'll probably peel off the medium lasers, slap an XL255 in it to get 10 truedubs, and dump the other ton and a half into armor... Even then it will be scantily defended, but will just have to play it like a heavily armed medium mech...

If that doesn't work, it'll get 3 AC5s

3 UAC/5 JagerDD? The LK's quirks would need to be massive to make it boat ballistics better than Jagers.

Jäger should be superior in ballistics. Rifleman just adds the energy option you don't have on standard Jäger variants.
Quirks may be better on the Rifleman because it lacks engine space for bigger engines (like Awesome or Blackjack)

Anyway, while we are at the Rifleman subject:

I hope to god PGI doesnt make the IIC counterpart look like this, at all. If anybody doesn't understand, this is supposed to be a Jade Falcon rifleman IIC (which the artist apparently just slapped a tiny sombrero radar dish on the head of a standard IS rifleman, and extended the barrels to mimic four large pulse lasers).

Posted Image

Now if PGI ever gets to their second IIC wave pack, i'm crossing my fingers that the follow the original artwork with this sexy looking mech. Along with the Locust IIC, Shadowhawk IIC, and Warhammer IIC (I hope they follow the original look of the warhammer IIC from MW2. I've always been a fan of the beefier, lower profile Warhammer IIC over it's MW4 cousin.)

As for the IS rifleman itself, gee gee to whoever bought this mech. If PGI doesn't implement unique quirks for this 60 ton beefcake (which I feel is only going to be exclusive to the hero variant for this mech), this mech is going to be a miss on my list. Poor armor, suffers from poor heat management, and it's weapons are sub par. PGI should at least quirk it to make the mech more accurate with the radar dish.

I'll wait for it's 65 ton clan cousin.

Yeah.... Stock o.o

Endo, DHS, and upping the engine to a 255XL lets you pump up full armor, and add extra ammo/heatsinks without modifying the stock weapons. And 2AC/5, 2LL, and 2ML is not at all a bad weapons loadout. You could up the LLs to ERLLs if you wanted range, but I don't know if the heat would be worth it.

I think it's gonna be a pretty solid little mech, I'm looking forward to mine. My new dropdeck is probably gonna be a Mauler, Heavy Metal, Legend Killer, and Pirate's Bane :P
