OH! So you're the guy that sandblasts his own team in the CQB to get kills. Thx! I always appreciate that!

Well, there's plenty of hills around to stand on so you can shoot missile from above. No need to hit your teammates.

You still can't deny that it's a stupid move to buy a mostly untested mech and expect it to just be good because money and stuff. Some mechs are good, some mechs are bad, and the fact that I spent $20 on a standard mech pack does not, and should not, guarantee that the mech I purchased is going to be the new metamech everyone seems to think it should have been.

the job of a company, is to provide value for product. Not everything has to be tier 1, but their internal testing shoudl have it solid before release. And that's not just for us peasants, but because it's GOOD for their future sales. They went through a stretch where whiny little P2W idiots got them scared to make a decent Hero Mech... and Hero Mech sales tanked (shockingly) after a continued run of subpar offerings... and in response we started getting the Mega Packs, and such, because they weren't selling.
Again, working to consistently release a quality product? It's just smart business. And hey, every company has missteps (Apple TV, anyone?) but it's being willing to admit, address and move on from those missteps that separate good companies from bad.

not to mention with LRM15 and 20, the spread is so wide you have the missiles that miss the intended target and hit whoever is brawling with them.
I've had many a Medium Mech crippled by a well meaning LRMer with elevation when his cloud of LRMs rained down and hit both the mech wi was tearing the Kidneys out of, and me.
*sigh*

Totally. Your biggest challenge if you are lurming right is staying out of minimum distance. It's a playstyle that rewards good situational awareness, which, whenever I do it is the thing that give me the exciting games.
It's also the reason that in 12v12 or less games there is no such thing as a good LRM assault mech. Maybe if we were playing 24v24 there may be a case for one. But we don't play those, so they're a waste of tonnage and are only slightly more use than a disconnect.

Sounds like you just don't like missiles. You and others like to continually bash people who use missiles. They are in the game, they are a weapon that mechs can equip, many people like them. Get over it. Granted using them smartly is a skill one needs to practice but that is the same as any weapon in the game.
I like missiles Always have, played Caldari - Drake Battle-cruiser ... ahh my wondrous missile boat
You know, the Meta Laserboats hit people with the streams of death all the time.... why is it just the missile boats that get the grief?

Wow, sounds like you haven't read any of my posts..or tweets to Russ about the need to FIX LRM (and make them better!) missiles.
I just don't like people who think it's good teamplay to use ME as their armor.
I can almost guarantee, Between my MDD and HBK-4J I am as good and probably better at using my missiles that you, since I don't get to harvest tier 5s with mine, k thx.

Bad tactic on the LRM thrower, no more or less than a SRM, AC, laser spam misfire.

I own and have run and do run..ALL of them.
Thx. Get up in matches regularly where people can hold their aim? You're gonna find a lot more wrong with the archer... and bad mechs, in general.

Hehe, it's funny, in Eve I'm a total missile snob, apart from rockets . They just seem the most boring easy, unexciting, half arsed weapon system. I expected the same in MWO but have found them much more difficult to use well and hence, rewarding when I do. There is such a difference between spamming at any second hand lock and actively hunting targets to kill. It really drove my understanding of the bigger picture in a match.

Another thought, is that different tiers are for sure looking at the the designs differently. Many in Tier 1 and 2 look at anything that is not Meta adaptable for competitive play as useless junk. Others in less competitive groups, like to see how to adapt a less than optimal Mech design to their liking and making it work well. It may not end up as the next "Meta" god Mech, but so what.
I want to win, but have fun too. I think both are possible.

The Archy has more armor, actually, referring to both the stock amount and the maximum amount you can carry.
It's the body shape and hitboxes that are the issue.

Looking at the hardpoints and if the shape/hitbox stays true to the art and the ear dont take the ST off... its going to be as popular and strong as the prequirk Shadowhawk was, but i bet the ears will blow the st off like the mohawk of the cent but much bigger easier to hit... that sucks mighty balls, they look awesome and i really want to pilot them.

If you can work Ice Ferret you'll probably like the PHX. The IFR isn't for everyone though. I keep hearing a lot of guys getting excited about their "Arctic Cheetah on steroids" who I reckon will call DOA because they will drive it like a cheetah be upset they keep taking damage or some other misplaced expection.
This mech is for the CDA/IFR dudes.
...and they are their own mech sub-culture
