Makes sense for units to play defense now, quiaff? I agree with your first point though, being loyal and advancing war effort should be srs bznss, the faction choice alone does not cut it much. Maybe implement faction bounties for taking designated planets to help steer people and mercs in desirable direction.

But there will be so many bad players in CW in next few weeks:/

From the patch notes:

From this I understand that "solo loyalists" means "loyalists that are not in a unit". So no, you couldn't synch drop unless you had everyone drop unit. Also, even if such an "exploit" would work, it would not be a good idea to quit the group queue and stomp pugs on a contested planet, because you'll be losing your matches on the unit queue front.

EDIT: the only way I see this working is if you had a core group of people with unitless alts ready to drop in the solo queue. I'm not saying it's improbable, but we should wait and see if it actually happens and becomes a problem.

I wanna buy a Tournament support pack !!

But when I head over to the gift store, there is none !?

Does anybody know where to find it, or is is just a joke from PGI ?

Or do I have to wait for the patch to be applied to buy it ?

Overall good! Scouting missions sound interesting.

MC gain from planets is laughably low.

I thought PGI was trying to make it less easy for large units to dominate Faction Play? Yet:
  • While Scouting reward are useful, they will favor large units who can field multiple Scout as well as Invasion teams.
  • CBill recruiting penalties aren't anywhere near enough to hinder very large units. (10M is no barrier to an experienced Mechwarrior changing units, particularly when they'll still be farming CBills from multiple planets.)

PPC heat and speed changes are too minor to make any actual difference.

Vindicator buffs indicate we've reached the bottom of the quirking barrel.

Alternative in regular wars: Deserters get shot. So you're pretty well off with 25% LP loss, I'd say.

sounds all very interesting so far.

I just have 3 issues:

First
when planets can run out of MC vlaue after a while, it may create some absuive behavio where some units will "trade" planets to farm MC.

Second:
Loyalist smurf accounts for the Faction votings:
10 maches isn't much as a "trial" period for a lifetime loyality. Some "motivated" individuals may surely create a tiny fleet of
said smurf accounts.
Instead it would be better that only pilots can vote who actively palyd 10 matches within the last week. This would heavily reduce the amount of smurfs a single pilot could support. However if a large unit would do this it would still work well to generate additional hundrets of votes.

Third:
solo loyalist queue: I see the following coming: People may synch drop as 12 "solo loyalists" to capture planets off other units. Because mostlikely those "solo loyalists" will get in the same queue and oppose pugs granting them very easy wins.
Tbh, solo players should only be allowed to scout planets, and to enter conquest would always require a unit or being grouped up with a player in a unit and then enter the Unit queue. There is otherwise too much abuse in this feature.


Also scouting seems to be vey much a FS9/ACH job only, where its all about speed for survival and firepower. maybe an srm Crow may have a tiny bit of use too.

About the quirks, they are still badly chosen in some cases, Adder B and A LT have the same hardpoint, one has quirks, the other not. Why ever using the B adder LT? Just for the 8/8 bonus? hardly going to happen.

At least, thx for unifying the Adder CT quirks to not make a "best choice" CT and killing alternate variants to be unused. Unfortunately too many other mechs still have the issue of equal but unbalanced quirked CT's :/
Also, since NVA legs are now all equal, the leg choice is totally unimportant, was that planned or just a sideeffect of swapping all structure and armor quirs to the CT? it also nerfed the B and A legs since their movement quirks were removed ad not added to the CT.

Support Tournament pack will be available as of patch, as per the special page 'Support the tournament' that I cannot link for some odd reason.

One discrepancy is that that page only mentions 10% XP bonus, while elsewhere I also see a 10% C-bill bonus. Either is good, both is better, but what is it going to be?
