Unless I miss my guess, the 55-ton limit is likely an XML variable PGI can tweak as time goes. We'll see.

Honestly, my first thought when this mode was explained was "yup, time to keep my Stormcrow in my deck." Then again, IS definitely has its own meta counters to that anyway. I don't see what the big deal is. I'm sure if there is a big deal, we'll start forum raging about it by this time tomorrow.

I really dont think it had much to do with Advantage honestly, Im still stuck on the variation of clan mechs on the field as their goal. But it does kind of translate to advantage.

In any real situation, even outside of mechwarrior, the weaker opposition is the one responding and reacting to the stronger: IE: IS has to to use the mindset of what can we do against crows. Its like the match appears to be dictated well before dropping, and the same for every match following.

You can be absolutely sure this 55 ton limit was to allow the clans another advantage. ACH and stromcrow vs what?

My Sparky makes short work of STREAK SCR, so do my BJ's....the only ones i have issues with are Enforcers (because XL) and Hunchies. But even they can hold their own against a streak mech if you stay outside 610 meters, hell the 4R Enforcer with 4 LL is a beast, try to close range on that guy with your Doom Crow and watch it go down, hard.

Leg the SCR and just run outside 610 meters, problem solved.

Do you not know about the meta Wolverines, Griffins, and Firestarters?

If only someone had predicted that Streakcrows would dominate...

... and that there would be a lot of tears.

... and that this would perhaps illustrate that streaks aren't actually properly balanced.

... but nobody has cared because only light mechs have taken it up the *** for these past few years.

I've resigned myself to accept that it's karma payment for all the pack-hunting I did in my 3L back in closed beta.

This will translate to long tom strikes in game and provide an even large advantage for the clans.

Further at 50tons the clans have HBK IIC and the cancer Jenner ... It really is too bad that pgi does things like this, but they wouldn't want to mess up 2 or 3 timberwolf dropdecks.

And the decades-long anti-Clan Crusade marches on.

Which doesn't do much, Cuts out the STREAK crows but STREAK Adders will still be a thing. Granted its not nearly as good of a robutts as the Doom Crow but all it does is drop your SSRM6's from 6 to 4.

Streak Adder vs Oxide is always an interesting match.

to be true, scout mode is about firepower in the end, you shouldn't show up with mechs lighter than 45 tons anyway. At least that's what I've seen so far.

Which is again bringing MWO away from what Battletech was. Lights scout, mediums support heavier mechs and hunt the lights off their heavy mate's legs. MWO is again firepower is everything and you end up with another skirmish/damage mode.

Lights did more than scout if they were built right, even in Battletech. Backstabbing is just as much a thing in Battletech as it is here. Same with harassing like the 6 ERML Jenner does currently.

Yeah, except in TT if you let a light mech into your rear arc when you could see it coming miles away, it was entirely your fault.

It's next to impossible for you to see light mechs coming in MWO most of the time unless you're running seismic and/or 3rd person PoV and constantly only the look out, and even then it's still a 50/50/ crapshoot.

how is a 55 ton storm crow with 5 x 6 SSRM a scouting mech?

It goes over 100kph and packs a Beagle Probe, generally.

Considering what Streakcrows do, it's actually almost ideal save for any data points that require jump jets to access.

Only if you are playing on flat terrain, there are plenty of ways to hide mechs in double blind (like going prone behind 50% cover or using forestry).

I guess I'll have to hop on my IS account and see how it is, but I'm thinking radar dep, ECM, and a fast light is probably the way to go to get around the streak crows.

Bring a Hunchie 4G or an AC20 Centurion. StreakCrows melt when facing those.

even something like a 3LL CDA-3M could kite a SCR pretty handily...

Alas, none possessed the great foresight, the godly wisdom, the genius level intellect to have possibly considered that we would all learn to fear the Streakcrow again! If only someone, just one person with a voice could've predicted this chaos! But none such champion arose to save us before our darkest hour!

wow clan has alrdy been nberded to death ..gets like 1 good mech per weight catagory IS gets mega buffed and still the IS tears flow down faces cuz ppl would rather cry for easy mode rather than have to use their brain for something other than a papper weight.
IS gets plenty of mechs able to defeat clan mechs easily....IF you dont have the brain power to figure it out thats you're problem.
