Seen it typed in chat and to those who use it I laugh at your ten year old mentality. One bad match doesn't mean you suck at the game. You just had a bad match and with all the disconnects due to server issues that pgi themselves has admitted to as well as saying they won't have a hot fix till monday at the earliest you might want to read this:

Yup, the "Git Gud" types are just so wonderful.

As the article points out, they chase people away from games because they are casual and not as practiced as they are. It's a type of stupid logic in which they don't want others playing the game unless they are equally "gud", which does nothing but chase players away and leaves the game empty of targets.

Never mind the fact that the "Git Gud-ers" are most likely underemployed losers living in their parents basement and only a game to give them an ego boost.

Too bad most of them don't "Git Gud" at real life.

Which is why I just ignore those f***ers.

In a related note, I had a match today where 2 of us lights tied up 4 of the enemy. But apparently, the 10 vs 8 matchup we created ended in the slaughter of our teammates. And yet we were blamed for "not being there". What a bunch of idiots.

Some people take video games way to seriously, or they just want to be ****** because they can hide behind the internet.

If you aren't playing to win you shouldn't be in the game. After all, what is a game? A game is a contest between people with an objective to achieve. If you aren't trying to conquer, what's the point? You might as well be playing pat-a-cake baker's man.

Fun? Winning is fun. Losing is not.

The internet is serious business.

Can people get saltier?

A bit more to the point, how can anyone pretend to have the moral high ground when they are throwing out the mindless insults I'm seeing in this thread...

Most people are probably too quick to say "git gud" if somebody screws up, I'll agree with that.

When it comes to somebody whining their *** off about stupid crap though, such as getting annihilated by LRMs or a light mech that doesn't sit in front of their crosshairs, then it's completely appropriate to say "git gud."

The first comment pretty much says it all:

"This article highlights what's wrong with gaming journalism where the journalist is hardly a gamer. The Polygon gameplay was atrocious and made the game look clunky and horrible, which is completely wrong unto how it actually feels.
I bet you believe aiming is a social construct and must be torn down for the sake of equality. You believe people's merits should not be respected it it gets in the way of fun for others. IN A GAME LIKE DOOM WHICH IS HEAVILY SKILL BASED.
It doesn't even need saying that you don't have to be good at video games to have fun in them, what it does say is that if you're inept at playing a game you have no right to judge it or showcase it in a way that makes it unfaithful to the product.
Everyone has the right to play games, but if they lose they shouldn't blame the game for their own faults unless truly warranted. Polygon showcased gameplay footage in a bad light because of the player's ineptitude with the medium. I would not hire a carpenter to teach a science class. For the same reason I would not hire a person with minimal to non-existent game experience to showcase gameplay for something they're unsuited for."

I don't snub players who are bad at this game yet still enjoy playing it. I snub players who are bad at this game, and have the gall to blame their teammates, the matchmaking, the weapons, the mechs--basically anything aside from themselves--for cutting off their enjoyment of the game.

To those I have only one thing to say.

Sounds like someone can't handle banter. If it really bugs you so much then mute the dude, but until then you might as well take Cranky's advice.

When someone tells me or my team to "git gud", I typically reply with something along the lines of "One needs to git gud when playing Dark Souls. In MW:O git above average is more apt."

The casual, "I play for fun," mentality just baffles me.

They downloaded a PvP game. They likely SPENT MONEY on assets within this PvP game. How in the ever living &^$% are players butthurt over the competitive nature of PvP?

A lot of players don't truly understand just how team oriented this game is, or how important their single mech is. They may not have the mechanical or piloting skills down, and could be the biggest noobs in the entire game, but as long as they stick with the team, they're already more effective than the vast majority of "casual" players out there.

I'd even say the level of teamwork dwarfs CS:GO. A good CS:GO player can clutch a 1v5 situation with good aim and timing, and it happens more regularly than you'd think. In MWO however, if you're the last guy against 5 enemies, I don't care how good you are, you aren't winning that fight, unless by some miracle every single enemy is literally 1 shot away from death, and even then, it's freaking hard as hell to pull off.

Considering there's no single player or free-for-all type modes in this game, there is no excuse to be a, "Ima do what I want," player, and if you are, you deserve every single "git gud" comment that comes your way, because you really should git gud. You're dragging your entire team down.

It's the same type of people that whine when somebody SMFC or higher joins their CS casual server and just one taps everything without even trying, so they vote to kick him.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

edit: lol, I didn't even read far enough into your post to notice that you mentioned CSGO too. hahahahaha

Teehee, close enough? Actually 1v6, but let's just call it winning a 1v5 with an open orange XL from the beginning, because... well, you'll see what happens in the end. ='[ https://www.twitch.t...703260?t=38m48s
