Twitter is not the right Medium to discuss Stuff - it is just for short Updates not for sharing a Vision of a Game. It is also not a good Tool to exchange Ideas as only the few short most recent Messages are seen by everyone. I do not understand why he is not on the Forums but on Twitter only.
About the Matter :
It is not about the Level of the Zoom of the Minimap or the Functionality of the Command Wheel (which I think can be a nice Tool if expanded) it is about him not understanding how important the current Minimap Functions are to this Game - especially on higher Skill Levels.
When I play MWO I got my Eyes on the Minimap 70% of the Time until I get in short Range Fights - and even then to fall back you need a working Minimap with Rotation, Autozoom, Mech directional Arrows (yours + Teammates + Enemy Team) and for an overall Overview you got the expanded Map. Was not really a Problem to use that - what they could do would be to have a transparent Overlay (optional) for what we currently got with the extended Map.
But what do you expect when he barely plays his own Game... Have seen him 1 Time in Match since I started playing in early 2013. That is not enough to understand what is going on. And you cannot only rely on third Party Information.
But as I said they roll back or I am out. Sad but true.

The new minimap would only be OK if this was a THIRD PERSON game... and MWO has made itself clear that it isnt. we rely on our senses, and most of all, our 2 directional minimap rotating the same direction we're watching. Hell, i even used the minimap to see where were my legs turning in relation to my torso... now i cant have that... its just confusing and counter intuitive because i have no freaking idea where the enemy is in relation to me or my allies, or where exactly am i heading... forcing me to waste more time thinking where they are while im being thorn limb by limb...
FFS... who had this "brilliant" idea anyways?

I'm usually that guy who defends PGI in an effort to calm people down. Not this time. It has hands down been the worst decision that they have ever made.

I've been playing MWO for a long time now, heck I would even be a founder if I found out about the game a month earlier. I took part in every change MWO has had, good or bad. I hardly said anything, just went with it because I liked the game. But this.. really f*cked me up bigtime. Instead of investing your energy in more gameplay diversity or something as equally important, you throw a new, pointless, thoughtless and somewhat copied minimap in our faces, which you didn't let us test beforehand to get your players opinion. So start thinking again and interact better with your community, because we play the game!

To be honest, so am i at some extent, but i was talking about the "extreme" examples of them. I defended the game like a Kingsguard on Steam while it was being harrased on lauch day... this i just cant forgive though...

-- Add a toggle to switch between old and new minimap styles.
If that is too much work for some reason then just at least revert to the old minimap for the cockpit display so people don't lose their minds. The new map style works OK for the full map view but as a cockpit display it at the very least needs a zoom feature.
So then whenever you have time to do so:
-- Add a toggled zoom feature to the cockpit minimap.
-- Add a toggle to let people choose whether or not they want the minimap to rotate as they turn their mech.
AND:
-- Add the ability to toggle the audio for command wheel communication.
Seriously, hearing the same generic voice no matter who issues the communication is not only annoying but also confusing. I want to be able to hear real VOIP chatter but just read the command wheel stuff.
