The choice of tanks, Helis, Men, On foot, sabotage missions, battle armor, and anything and everything in the world of Mechwarrior!

If you want to do these things, go and play MechWarrior: Living Legends mod for Crysis Wars.

I'm pretty sure the Devs here at MWO have stated before that they are focused on Mech combat and not tanks, planes, battle armor, etc.

they stated it will not be available at launch, maybe way down the road (once the heat sinks cool off from Go Live) but it would mean alot of extra dev work and by the looks of just the community warfare alone, they've got enough on their plates for quite awhile.

Don't forget we're mimicking a timeline in game in real time, and in about a year the SHTF and they're going to have a busy schedule getting the Clan invasion ready to go.

Q. Will there be vehicular combat alongside Mechs for the players this time?
A. At the moment we are not following up with combined arms (tanks, hovercraft, jets etc.)

You may want to try MechWarrior: Living Legends for the time being. Its a combined arms game, incl. 'Mechs, Tracked Vehicles, Hovercrafts, VTOL, Aerotech and BattleArmor.

Also don't forget about those who want to ride purple ponies or pink unicorns into battle! And then there would be the option to fully integrate AeroTech, drive giant spaceships who can shell a battlefield and stomp whole Mech companies into the dust with a single broadside of their naval guns. Also, the BT universe has still nukes and they are occasionally used. We totally need to incorporate tactical nukes as well. The classical *thud - y'all are dead* button...

Unfortunately from memory Naval weapons can only fire on objects the size of other warships

Anyone else get the impression that 90% of MWO's revenue is going to come from selling My Little Pony decals for mechs?

If the bronies have to pony up (tee-hee) real money to replace every pony sticker that I burn off their rides with my PPCs, this game will make bank and I will be so, so, so happy it's disturbing.

That sounds more like BTO, Battle Tech Online.. mechwarrior online is where you pilot the mechs. I dont think a mechpilot would ever call a tanker a mechwarrior. And if he did, he was drunk and probably beat up by his lance mates. Then peed on. No tank greaser is going to be on the same level as a mech pilot. DX< let alone ground pounders or fly boys. Hell, why dont we let the drop ship pilots in on the action! Or the jump ship techs. Or the tax payers. Who likes those guys!?

Do you still think that antibattlemech legs attack tactics is fantastic?
Well, you wrong. Watch the Grey Death Legion antibattlemech infantry training process:

Well that makes zero sense.

It would be awesome if they added a multiplayer mode, such as in Future Cop LAPD. Where two factions each have one base with turrets across the map, and you can build and guide choppers and tanks into the enemy base. Dota pretty much does the same thing, but Future Cop LAPD has proven that it can be a success formula for mech games.

(apologies if it's a bit more offtopic then it seemed when the idea popped up when reading this thread)

I think it's more that because the weapons were so big they couldn't target or track objects smaller than dropships/warships. If an fighter or something else small got in the way it would still be obliterated.

Please no. Don't turn this into MW:LL or Battlefield 3. Stay in 'Mechs, no other vehicles.

I like the ideas, but, it would be interesting. I understand the mech only type mentality, and I agree with you somewhat on that.

But fighting against tanks, choppers, etc would be awesome. There could be coop missions:
- Actual missions.
- A survival type mode where you need to defend against waves of enemies (choppers, tanks, etc).
- A DOTA type mode where you need to support friendly units (tanks, choppers, etc).

It would make it feel like an actual war.

I wouldn't mind seeing tanks down the line. As for Aeros, if Mechwarrior: LL is anything to go by, aeros VS. mechs/ground target is extremely easy for the aero. Fire bombs.
