Decals Need An Off Switch

However if you don't want fun and immersion-breaking paintings in this game, where was the uproar when the bucaneer camo was introduced? or the faction camo for davion and steiner mechs with those non serious writings?
I mean shall we all apply tiger and sherman camo only in the colors green, brown and grey? Gimme mah pink already that is a lore color, I want that pink locust with stuff from the camachos for the true immersion!

If you're feeling charitable, then this is a sign that PGI realized that they ****** up with their original monetization scheme, and they're trying to self-correct all these years later. If you're not feeling charitable, then they're milking the whales for their last pennies.
Either way, just like TF2 hats, I wish I could turn them off, though I know I'll never see the option.

Decals need to be able to be turned off, because I don't need to see a bunch of **** **** / *** / and smile faces on these mechs.
As far as I'm concerned this is the moment where PGI jumped the shark.
For decals and for warhorns as well.
Almost all warhorns are pure immersion destruction.

Surely the end times are upon us!!!!!!!!
But alas.....I actually do *trips on own tongue and stutters a sec trying not to choke on it* agree.........*coughs*....... with Sader about them darn decals, but only to a point!
That point being the how you can place them to obscure to obscure the cockpit and hard points! I'm rather found of being able to identify my targets head hitbox if needed, and what he/she is armed with at a glance with out needing the paperdoll/wait til they fire, if I so desire to spare myself that split second more of exposure to the enemy to get such.
Past that.....couldn't care less. People wanna make there mech "ugly" or make it even easier to visually aquire it as a target, then by all means go right the hell ahead.
Wanna layer decals into whatever the most "offensive" image you can is? Go right the **** ahead, I ain't that easily offended and my since of humor sure as hell ain't getting me into heaven!
It's only the "masking effect" they give cause of there **** poor quality that bugs me......SO YES PGI! I TOO WOULD LIKE AN OPTION IN GRAPHICS SETTING TO NOT RENDER DECALS ON MY CLIENT!
so tryhradism is the reason? seriously thats the least reason why such thing shouldn't exist. as someone trying so hard, just lern the location and ignore the visual one.

Can anybody provide a link to the updated TOS or COC or whatever the hell we had to "accept" with this patch? The links in the forums are the old one. I want to make sure that my dekal combination of the lips decal below the PGI skull on the back side of my Quickdraw is a proper display of love and honor and in no way "vulgar" or in any other way a violation.

So this is an agreement to what I said or an objection?
I did say "almost all" and you have to admit that most of them are a joke. A funny joke IF it's optional. Annoying as it is right now.

yes and why would you not scream over the battlefield and show your opponents that you just ripped one of them apart as a tactic to scare.
Warhorns are the warcries of Mechs, But I forgot, warcries are totally unimmersive as warpainting is too and it never happened in RL ever.

You should not be able to put decals on glass, exposed metal, and weapons. For obvious reasons but this will limit the "I put a [head/face] emoji on my cockpit, lol!"
The 2nd feature is on the in game report function allow you to report for someone to have say abusive/ explicit decal combinations for reasons such as...

Which to be quite honest I think this is reportable already =l
EDIT: See what I mean? Once upon a time there was a rather phallic image of decals.
Then moderator had to clean that up. If a screenshot of that wasn't allowed then I doubt in game it would've been.

So here's the real question: When are we getting corporate sponsored decals to make the Esport dream come to life?

No. The *immersion* for this game is based on a 80ies tabletop game lore that is full of cheese. This is not a serious lore, actually it is b-movie trash if you read any of the novels. And beside decals, there are enough ways to make a silly looking mech in the game and there was not a single one who was upset about it.
Ok not true, people where upset the heavy metal was pink. But even more people were upset that they could not buy the heavy metal pink for other mechs, so there's that.

Yeah that was priceless.....
People complain because the Stompy Robot in their Stompy Space Robot Game was hot pink... like it was supposed to be. Because Stompy Space Robots are SERIOUS BIZNEZ.
Methinks people need to get away from their computers, get some sunlight and let their brain cells regrow.

I find it funny. Now this could be because i'm a history buff and i know that all arms of the military do this. But i can't help but laugh at the mental gymnastics people are doing to be so salty about this. I only wish dekals could be brought with Cbills as well. *also need a snake one for muh Viper*

My, my, my........Still quick to judge and sling labels I see?!
Relax, I have no desire to have decals removed from game or something, just the off switch for ones personal client. Akin to our options for cockpit glass per-say.
Anyhow, yes I am aware you can just memorize the location for each mech and for the most part this will probably get you to hit it if your aims half decent. I'm only annoyed by the poor quality of the decals that causes them to almost "float" atop the mechs surface thus obscuring the lines of the mech. If the decals actually perfectly hugged the lines of the mech, I wouldn't have even mentioned this.
Just some clarification.
Also, noted you mentioned nothing about the hard-point obscuring part????

Its the one titled Off Switches desired for
As I also have no desire to see Acid heads covering mechs or erect phallus, and the supply cache disco ball is driving me nuts after each drop..

Does occasionally make ya wonder who has actually served in a military or not... (I have not, and would never disrespect those who have by claiming otherwise) considering what any student of military history can find with a simple google search... and all the weird crap my family members who have served have shown me.
Militaries, especially deployed militaries, back in the day, had a lot more "unofficial" and against regulations decorations than some of these "super serious" forum warriors seem to realize.

While I find the crying silly as always, I don't see anything wrong with an on-off switch. Just depends how integrated the decal system is and whether it is something that can just be switched off.
