Like wtf is this ****?
Was there even a single ppl that ever waned the gauss Charge mechanic??

from: Updates to Energy Draw PTS 12-SEP-2016

Gauss Rifles
With the heaver restrictions on Heat Thresholds in this update, we are re-introducing the Charge mechanic for Gauss Rifles and bringing the Energy Consumption values down to their original 1:1 values.

Wy not just nerf its other stats? like massively increase its Energy Consumption?

edit:
pls remember that likely after the power draw system is in, we wont be able alpha like we do now,
2 gauss at 15 power each will use up all 30 power, so quad gauss owning ppl is unlikly

Evidently Russ loves the charge mechanic and thinks it adds to the game.

I have no problem with the charge mechanic, but it is silly to have when the Gauss gets destroyed easily and frequently explodes when destroyed.

Fantastic news. For once excessive whining and the inability to use a mouse button has not won out.
They have apparently seen the light on this issue. :D

the charge up is a good balance for all this gun offers and not really a problem. People get used to it in like 2 matches so I don't really see a problem with it.

If it's a choice between charge up and 11 ghost heat for firing dual gauss, I'll go with charge up

Charge up. Let us hold it until we choose to let it ramp down. If it is damaged while charged up, better chance it will go nuke on you if they get a crit. NO reason why that magnetic charge can't be maintained.

Maybe they will remove the 2 gauss restriction now so that guy can get that mech he was so upset over.

Agreed, the charge mechanic staying is indeed good new. With out it there would be little reason to use any other ballistic as well as obsoleating the AC20 again.

I would rather have had them keep increasing the CD to make the DPS terrible.

Its way more fun to use as a gauss sniper than a guass bow.

Remove the Gauss-Charge! I don't want to repeat all the arguments again. You can read them in various threads since the implementation of this atrocity.

I'd prefer a longer cool down. Get rid of the charge

What about keeping the existing charge mechanic, but with that condition that Gauss Rifle will explode "only" when it's charged.
Uncharged GR could be critted and disabled, but there would be no explosion.

What do you think?

DUDE you must be new to the game, if there is no charge mechanic to the gauss rifle the game goes back to poking around corners online, thus the return of the poptart era. I like the charge mechanic because then the gauss rifle becomes a weapon of skilled use. My advice 'git gud' Steel Jaguar aka SJR are masters of the gauss PPC game and they are scarry as all hell on the battlefield.

Practice with it, esp. on a hellbringer learn to time your shots with your lasers putting all that dmg into components.

I am fine with that, but I would add that it should not have less HP than an AC when it is not charged. I can also agree with a previous post wanting to maintain the charge. In that case, it should be constantly drawing energy. Holding it charged for more than a few seconds should also increase the cooldown.

The thing is fifteen tons and takes up a ridiculous amount of space plus it needs ammo to boot.
Thats weakness enough.
