This event has given a semblance of tonnage balance to QP. Even dropped with 3 mediums in bravo lance and 4 lights in Alpha. Guessing that as those KMD's a slightly harder to achieve for lights and mediums, it is taking more rounds to get them and people are playing those weights more. The KDK-3 population is also reduced as you can play one round in that and almost certainly get your KMD.

Just refreshing not to see 3-4 assaults and 4-5 heavies in every single QP drop. Ah variety!

The distribution has been different, for sure. There was one game where my Battlemaster was the only assault on our side (enemy team had 3 kodiaks lol). I'm rather fond of seeing variety out there, and that's definitely been the case. Way more mediums than usual out there (more Vipers, but no Pixies), though not a lot of lights in my games. Jenner-IICs/Oxides, sure, but not much else (even Cheetahs). Strangely been seeing a few more Spiders of late. Not your usual KMDD machines.

It is a different dynamic for sure in most drops. One drop had the guys who were dead yelling at my remaining teammates to give my KDK-3 support, so as to keep me alive (just so they didn't lose that firepower) as all the remaining mechs on both sides were much lighter. When there are less assaults on the field they become more precious. Interesting/Fun to have a different dynamic.

Lol yeah I've heard a few "protect the assaults until they run out of ammo, then leave em" type discussions on comms lately :D Luckily my Battlemaster was running quad ppc so no ammo concerns there :)

is there something wrong with the event? for the last 2-3 hours all the the day timer says is that Oct the 4th is over. The the event timer irs self is still counting down, but not the day timer. and no matches for the last 2-3 hours have gone up

What's an urbanmech stein? Is that a dashboard item of a mug in the shape of an urbanmech?

well the problem seems to be fixed except it hasnt got any games for today at all. that sucks i have to do it all again now

Yes, the same one the Atlas on the event screen is holding. You can preview all cockpit items too, just don't click buy and

+1 for the event increasing the variety of weigh classes! Good to see.
Besides, 1 KMDD isn't so hard as to change peoples playing much.

(Only thing I disagree with is that it's much harder for lights/meds to get kills; ram a few SRM+SPL in a slow assault's back and it's done! You've got speed and agility, and the stamina to chase down lighter targets too, while those can just run away from a heavy.. I'm suspecting these are simply pilots used to a heavier playing style..)

same problem here, several matches with kmmd and a score of 200+, but no registry.

Ironically, I have been having no issues at all with the event page updating hourly, but I've been having desync issues in-game. Like blown off components showing structure/armor on my paper doll, blasting stationary (non-AFK targets) and not hitting them, etc. Posted Image

argh for the last 12 hours the page has said that Oct 5th is over and wont record any games i play. can we only get scores at certain times of day? after the 4th day eneded i played a few games and should have got something but its still stuck on the 5th saying its over. Anyone else getting no day timer? my event timer is still counting down though

I from australia so the event should roll onto the next day at like 10am but doesnt seem to for hours at a time. For the last 2 days i can only get games recoreded of 12 hours day, half the day it is stuck saying that the given day had ended.

How long each day are we supposed to have to get the challenges completed? because im only getting 12 hours ish a day before it glitches out and says the day has ended for the next 12 hours.

when is the day supposed to roll over and let you complete the next days challenges? Actually forget it. i give up. i dont know why i expected a useful response at all. The amount of assistance this game gives out is appalling.

WTF so i checked the ******* event page and its fixed but low and behold: I have ONLY 6 HOURS left today for challenges AND NONE OF MY GAMES earlier today count FOR ****. So i am only getting 6 HOURS A DAY FOR THIS!?!?


Edited: ok well im annoyed where does it say that you only get 6 hours and 40 minutes a day for the challenges? because this happened yesterday as well and its ****. This 6 hours is during my Science degree so no chance of playing but for an hour after i get home, i which time i cant finish the damn things anyway.

After having played in this event for several days, I wanted to make sure I said this on the forums somewhere that PGI could see it if they chose to look:

This event is great. It encourages diverse weight classes, it doesn't encourage selfish and stupid behaviors, and the rewards are simple and useful.

I would even go so far as to say that this is how the game should be all the time. Maybe reduce the rewards, even significantly if that's necessary to make it financially sound, but add a once-per-day quest for each weight class.

Excellent job, PGI, excellent job.

Everyone gets 24 hours to finish each day's challenge. That your life, school schedule, job, whatever... prevents you from having more than 6h40mins in those 24 to play this game....is NOT PGI's fault or responsibility. They even put in a LARGE boxed timer that counts down each day's period on the event page.

I am also enjoying the event as its giving me an excuse to run mechs I hadn't run in awhile, as well as just playing the same mechs I was already leveling anyway. I got my assault KMDD tonight with a quad-lb10 KDK3 on terra therma about 25 mins ago. 8 heat of weapons to do 40 damage at 540 meters.... yes I like that sorta math. I got a lot of kill assists, a lot of components destroyed, and a lot of c-bills.
