It will also provide a whole lot of closure for many people. Let the game sink or swim on its own merits or lack of it. <shrugs>
Agreed. MWO should NEVER have had that "A BattleTech Game" in the title. They never should have pretended that CW was going to take place in that "BattleTech Universe" and they never should have had advertisements (back in 2011-2012 anyway...when's the last time you saw an ad for this game?) which made claims of the sort that you as a player would be able to partake in a game that would allow you to "rewrite the history of the innersphere". etc.
These people don't even have in game description of the actual game content: the mechs, let alone the "universe" that the game is supposed to take place in. Seriously...think about that for a moment: unless you know what this game is all about -before hand- there is NOTHING in the game itself to tell you wth is going on or how it works. You need foreknowledge of BT and MW, or at least sarna, to have any clue what this game is about..and yet they wonder why new, younger players don't give it a try. For fugs sake.
Just dump it. I mean it isn't even aspirational at this point either. Those of us holding on to hope that it every would have any lore or flavor of BattleTech gave up on that hope a long time ago. After Russ finishes off what little is left of the CW experience (see NGNG podcast 145 for all the fun details) there is ZERO reason to have any pretense of this being "A BattleTech Game".
