Please tell me what is so "new" about this. What are these "new" things it will bring to MWO.
The Axman would bring us melee combat. (Something new.)
A Goliath or Scorpion would give us a quad mech. (Something new.)
The Avatar gives us an IS Omni. (Something new.)
The Kingfisher is a Clan Omni with a standard engine. (A "small" new, but still something new.)
The Colossus is an arena mech that brings X-pulse lasers and an IS LB 20-X AC. (Something new.)
So is it that is "new" THIS mech will bring.
okay, for starters, if you haven't noticed, they usually tend to stick to within a roughly two-year radius of the original timeline. that cans the Avatar for at least another year (3056), the Raptor and Black Hawk-KU though, could show up. Same goes for weapons (most of IS Tech II, which you're talking about isn't until at least 3056-3060).
secondly, it's been said at length that Melee isn't going to happen. I feel your pain because i too love the Axeman, Hatchetman and Berserker, but i can live with that.
thirdly, Quad mechs would require an entirely new setup control wise.
The Kingfisher is really the only thing on that list that's likely to show up anytime soon (other than the IS Omnis i mentioned).
also, bear in mind every company that's ever owned a MW game has added in new mechs. there's at least eight to ten from MW4, for instance, and a lot of those are beloved designs (Argus, Mad Cat Mk II and Fafnir, for instance.) Alex is allowed to at least add one or two, it's probably been a longtime dream of his to get a new mech added to the canon he designed.
