The "Victor" you see there is the Lu Wei Bing, an up-tonnaged take on the Victor after House Liao lost their Victor factories to Davion. Acts more like the old AC20 Victors than the Davion/Kurita Gauss versions.
I agree that the Pro Davion of the 3025 era became very annoying, part of the reason I jumped on board the Lyran Commonwealth, it was that or Free Worlds League, and they were lose Allies of the Fu Man Chu's and the American Eighties Space Ninja. I realised that Lee Van Clef's career had sunk so low, when he acted in that Tv series so far from the spagetti westerns he aced

Isn't customizing and creating something everyone does in their own mech bay? But PGI isn't allowed to create anything new I suppose. Wtf is wrong with this fan base.
10/10 Will buy
Just to kill these mentally stunted nerds

I am sorry. What is "new" about this? What "new" things does this bring?
(Does not even look tike it was made with real combat in mind. Just some construction mech someone slapped guns on "for shits-and-giggles".)

This mech won't ship until AFTER the new skill tree happens and ALL mechs lose ALL their quirks.
Really?
Heh...heh heh...
I've been waiting for that skill tree overhaul since Paul personally told me about it in early 2013.
And if they drop the quirks I would like them to use Limb Specific Quirks only...
That is to say if X limb has a single energy hardpoint it might have a X% energy quirk... that does NOT affect ANY OTHER PART OF THE MECH or any other energy weapons.
....the way it should have been.
So.
Hopefully you're serious.
And PGI's serious.
Because I have waited for that goddamn overhaul since 2013.

...but since when does Mechwarrior "Can't publish our player count" online put up sales figures for the mech packs, and why else would they justify making their own mechs when there are literally hundreds of canon ones to choose from?
I'm assuming this is supposed to be random gibberish or English isn't your first language?
If you bothered to pay attention you'd have noticed Russ has given out pack figures before, e.g. at the time of the Marauder IIC.
I know actually researching topics is out of favour before posting but at least try to do some basic research before spamming please.

Do NOT quirk the torso structure or armor, instead focus those numbers on the arms and DO NOT SHRINK THE ARMs...
This mech could have a very different playstyle that I would absolutely love to use in which the arms could be used as shields without having to torso twist by using Arm Aiming... And this hasn't really been doable in a long time, so I'd really, really, rrrrrrreally appreciate keeping the long-as-heck arms with some good structure/armor buffs to the ARMS. Yeah.
Honestly this could be so much fun.
Even more if PGI heavily tonned down the FLD (front loaded damage) on most weapons (keep for missiles, Gauss and PPCs). Damage classes on weapons are meant for 5-to-10 second intervals, now to be done 3 to 18 times in 10 seconds or less. Wouldn't need silly things like energy draw.
Agreed but the Phoenix Hawk (as much as I personally love its playstyle) was hated by most players for the arm syndrome so there might be a riot.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries - Pre Alpha Gameplay Demo (Mech_Con 2016) Unerealy engein..... PGI dont like Cryteck hard work
Edit: Questions that come up while watching.
My first question... is how come MWO is nothing like this?
My second question... is how come you are entering the mech through the front of the cockpit when the 3D model Clearly has a hatch in the rear that you can enter? You know, just a thought. Less likely to accidentally kill someone by stepping on the punch controls and such; also all mechs are entered from behind or on top.
Third question.... Why do we still have Mech Rifles (FLD 1 shot then reload tank-like cannon) instead of Autocannons (magazine [Cassette] fed weapon that fires in singles at fully automatic rates or in bursts to deliver many bullets to net the categorized damage over time) -- unless maybe the FLD is gone for the AC? Even so the Armstrong AC/5 is an 80mm which is a 6 to 10 shot (to consume 1 'round' of ammo and 5 damage) AC/5 depending on the source. (Sarna example of a 120mm AC/5, the most common scale of autocannon shell among 5s, 10s and 20s, so while 3 does 5 damage, 6 does 10 and thusly 12 does 20. Reason for AC/20s having such poor range? They fire shells 4 times faster than AC/5s at whatever comparable size shell the two might be able to use. Note that AC/5s cap out at 120mm. AC/2s cap out at 90mm, which still isn't big enough for a single shell to do 2 damage.)
Fourth question; that after death explosion is what we have been asking for....for a long time. Why no after death explosion in MWO?
Comment: I don't think the Technician should be the guy to announce that the base should go on military alert.
Comment: Doesn't anyone use loud speakers? Hate to say it but having been a soldier a military base and having visited 4 other bases, even when people do have comms head gear, there is always an alert given over loudspeakers with a klaxxxon even for drills. The real thing? You bet your rear the entire area will know that an alert has been scrambled.
Fifth question: ....How come nothing scrambled on the orders to scramble? No vehicle support?
Sixth question: Why no in cockpit head-looking? That shadow at his feet, I guarantee there's a dropship above him. Could've been a smidge of extra drama there.
Seventh... Can we get THAT hud?
Comment: There's an iffy thing about the HUD though. Unless that's from hollographic screens... it doesn't move with the head and that's iffy because that gives the impression that it isn't a HUD on the neurohelm. Makes me sad.

This said I'm excited.

I love the design, although its purpose is questionable, if i were responsible i`d at least gave it JJ or MASC(now that one would be fun)
New stuff is OK, as long as it melds organically into lore..

On the Phoenix Hawk: I loved the arms. But the arms got no additional protection. Thus arm syndrome.
Unlike the Hawk though, the Roughneck has borish arms that look like they could be used as shields. In fact I would love a button to cross them in an X in front of me.

My only thing with the pack is, I wish one of the variants in the basic pack had more energy options. Having the ballistic and missile heavy designs fits the lore well but not giving many variations for a purchase. Will think about some builds and see if its worth it. Nice that there are some color unlocks in the early adopter rewards though.

inb4 yes.
Not even remotely. Maybe after they actually deliver on their promises this time then I'll start to get my hopes up a little. Right now PGI is still sitting in a place where they need to prove themselves.
Great, so Alex and PGI got to create a unique mech that received the "canon" blessing from Randal Bills. Then they made some industrialmech atrocity that looks like it should be coming out of the Dark Ages and the terribly bombed Wizkids MechWarrior: Dark Ages Heroclix knock-off. Not only that, but they put it in the most oversaturated weight class in the most populated tonnage rating; and it's coming before a lot of iconic mechs that people have waited years for . . . including two mechs in this exact tonnage rating (Axman and Crusader) with one of them being a classic that's ripe for the picking.
PGI bombed hard on this decision, and for the most part the thread is reflecting that.
