Didn't show the quirks, because there wasn't a lot to show. Max yaw is 70+20 on all but one, which is 70+30. You'll be able to see more on Phil's stream/video on Monday.

This is entirely unacceptable. This is the kind of garbage twist you gave the kodiak to nerf it. Buff the torso twist.

Couldn't you guys have shown the crusader (bundled) paintjob at least?

Also, CHH - what, no one else can paint flames on their mech? That paint job has been around long before battle tech ever existed, so by the time you reach 30xx.... =p

True but no one wears it quite as well as CHH. Posted Image

Thanks. thats... borderline for this mech, given the gigantic STs - one flank is likely to be the end of it, but we will see how it plays out

Yeah the Executioner had 70 but then got quirked up to 80. Different issue there, as the mobility was really needed for an under-armed big engine assault mech. I'm a little disappointed this thing got Mauler torso twist, but because its faster it might be okay. I complained about the Mauler at first, but then realized that with the massed dakka it could bring it made sense. I do see what you mean about the giant STs though. Having a limited twist range might be pretty detrimental to a mech like this.

Actually 70 degrees is the pre-nerf Kodiak torso twist. Now it is 60. The Mauler has 70 degree torso twist still.

Stalkers also have 60 degrees (if i recall correctly), but they also have no lower arm actuators, limiting their Field of Fire even more.
Why aren't Stalker pilots complaining about it?

how much twist do you need when the enemy is exactly 999.5m away.

Because IS pilots don't feel like they are entitled to all their stuff being OP. They just deal with what they get, then complain about real issues.

Before anyone starts white knighting, i have actually bought the marauder IIC, because i love marauders. I also used to play clans when they launched, before switching back to IS. In hindsight, they were clearly OP as hell, and in all honesty this is what broke the game ever since. All the real hardcore clan pilots, deep down want their stuff to be OP again, like the initial clan drop, because it fits the lore.

They can't grasp that the lore and balance don't match up. Just looking at this mech on paper, it is going to be the new OP FotM 85 ton clan assault. Its going to do to the warhawk what the kodimaniac did to the dire wolf.

I may be wrong, but i doubt it. The IS marauder is already a badass. This is the same mech, but with ECM, clan tech, and more JJ's, as well as assault class rather than heavy and having more armour.....

And people are actually complaining about torso twist? Lol. That is hilarious!

Lets use it first, then decided what or if needs tweaking positively, as opposed to negatively.

Actually Kodiaks had 80, reduced to 60 - i was concerned that the MAD might only be getting 60 as well, but 70 is, as i said borderline passable. Note that Maulers do have massive ape hanger shield arms, so a flank doesnt screw you - something comes at the MAD-IIC from 90 degrees to the side its going to be almost impossible to save that ST.. just means positioning is going to be super important.

If im honest i prefer that PGI are being cautious with this one. Better to release slightly weak and buff if required in my opinion.

It had 80° because that was the reason I bought them when I first saw it.

Who ever did the Marauder IIC's weapons. You did great! I really like how your brought the Gauss Rifle in to the arm housings!

Gives me hope for the Mk II that it will get something similar for her arms. The missile boxes are spot on, the PPC on the torso is a true barrel PPC. How do the torso mounted UAC's look (barrel wise), and the torso mounted GR as well (be cool if it got the giant rail gun look lol)

Buffing will never happen if it as just 20% underperforming.
It has to be 50% or more underperforming for that happen because otherwise the crowd-whining wont reach Russ ear.
But you are still right about releasing it underperforming than overperforming.

So Kodiaks had 80 degrees.. that's right I remember now. I remember being shocked it had 80 when the EXE had only 70 on release now that you mention it.

That's true too. Hopefully the additional maneuverability will help you not get flanked, but of course thoughtful positioning will be important. Most MAD-IICs should be low- to mid-70s which is considerably better than the Mauler's typical 52-55.

Exactly, this also puzzled me. Why should a 95t mech have 70° and a 100t have 80°.
And now we have a 85t mech with 70 while all mechs around it have 85+.

Except for the Stalker-3H, Stalker-4N, Stalker-5M, Stalker-5S, Battlemaster-1G, Battlemaster-3M which have 60o and Stalker-Misery which has 65o.

If you want Bad Torso Twist try the Stalker.
We only get about 60 degrees with no arm movement to the sides.
And were slower at only 50kph.
I can't wait for tomorrow to get here soon enough for my collectors, early adapter and maybe 'Scorch' paks to arrive.
Time will tell how this one plays out as it looks to be more nimble than others in its weight class with better or worse torso twist.
Good Luck to everyone tomorrow.
Lets enjoy our new Toys!!!Posted Image
