It's what happens when you give a mech GodQuirks, then suddenly fix one of the greatest weaknesses of the chassis

You get good

well.. I'll just say, IMO all velocity quirks need to go.. I have no idea why they added them in the first place, and make many mechs way OP because of them..

It is no surprise when many of the top mechs have them..

balance the weapon with out the velocity quirks.. Add cooldown and heat, to increase DPS on under performing mechs.

that said, with skill tree this is all getting revamped, so i can deal for another few months..

I'm going to have to take another look at that mech. I have been avoiding it because it looked like crap. Which was a shame because the Summoner has always been one of my favorite clan mechs.

How long did we complain about the Summoner being terrible and needing help? Now it's got help and its OP and we need to nerf it. FFS.

Honestly, main thing that makes it difficult to use for me, even outside of the tonnage problems it has? The fact that it's stuck armlocked. It'd be a much better machine if you could just move your damn arms sideways.

You'll still be gimped unless you have the Loyalty Summoners

Those add 2 high mounted E hardpoints (and better quirks on top of it all)

Yep it's a bit OP.

It doesn't need nerfs. All it needs is the quirks tied to the 8 set and all the issues with it will be gone completely

That does actually qualify as a (significant) nerf since pod mixing is required to create the best builds for it. Stock pods don't work on this gundam other than the missile boat (SRMs).

So the new Summoner is child of the T-bolt 9S from yesteryear? :)

Not really, since the Thunderthug was all about constant firing (low heat) while the Thor is more about accuracy (velocity) and mobility.

Really? so was it the hard points just like push it over that edge? Didnt alot of people wanted to unlock endo for it so it can be semi decent? no now its OP! sound the OP alarm! has tonnage issued due to ferro. The upside you can put ppc nipples instead of uacs and jumps.. whoopie do. Its a good hit and run mech and if you get rushed or brawled you're toast.

(Retracting my not tanky statement i was thinking on terms of like marauder status of tanky. It can take hits but thats on a multitude of factors.)

It's quite tanky, actually

That's part of its extensive amount of quirks (and cXL)

Have you seen the quirks?

Summoners can brawl. I'm not sure what rock you are living under to suggest otherwise.

I think we should bring it back. It would be no worse than the other stuff we currently have plowing the field.

Sorry guys, but the Summoner is stupidly OP right now, and it honestly needs nerfs for the good of the game. Maybe it is entirely due to the loyalty hardpoints, but something should be done.

Here's the stats I (a fairly mediocre player) pulled off in it, 100% solo queue:

2:1 WLR in the solo-q doesn't necessarily qualify it as OP though. My KDK-3 had 4:1 WLR and 5:1 KDR in 55 matches. Now that was OP. I did point out that Summoner CERPPC quirks need reduction after the Loyalty mechs, with their high mounted chest points came out.

Correct. Summoners are mean brawlers in their weight class.

Nah, Nova has the honor of being the 'Mech to bring it back, followed by the BJ-3, and finally the HBK-IIC which pushed it into mainstream comp decks. Summoner is late to the party.

A Nova without a stupid amount of lasers is no Nova to me. Nova Prime or bust.

Summer OP Posted Image

PGI couldn't even give this Mech away a few months ago. Ever wonder why they gave out two summers for a loyalty reward instead of one? Who in their right mind would ever buy one unless there was a reason to. Now it has one viable build that doesn't include auto-cannons. Let it be OP, let people fear it for once. I'm sure they'll nerf it when it becomes available to the masses next year. Posted Image
