Conniving backstabbers?
Screw that! I'm putting em on my Maulers (for an evening or two).

Well yeah.

I said a decent supplement for the conniving backstabbers. They're hot garbage for your Mauler but they're amusing hot garbage so have at it. Take videos. Get someone to remake the ol' Atlas B.ukkake video except with Maulers instead of Atlases.

...no, srsly. Go do that, I want to see it.

I got absolutely mopped in a Night Gyr the other day by a mech toting maching guns.... rather than be mad.... I was proud

*sheds a tear* good form mechwarrior, goodform

Pls dont nerf these back into oblivion, you should never ignore any weapon in mechwarrior and several lighter mechs with multi ballistic points are now worth it again. Let the tears flow from anyone too stupid to not swat that locust or spider now. It might shift the meta to more back armor, wouldnt that be interesting.

Was that me in a JagerMech on Canyon Network that shredded your NTG? Because I shredded an NTG with MGs the other day...

I don't see how a 100%-facetime weapon can be that unbalanced.

As with flamers, players aren't used to them.

Must have been you lol, same map and timeframe. I think I was in the green and black NGT-B, sniper build.

Yeah that match blew my mind, I stepped out from the lowground to pop a damaged mech and heard probably less than 3 seconds of MG fire behind then pop. Needless to say as a NGT sniper I have frontloaded armor, and yeah it happened crazy fast. Point is though that I over extended and was really stupid to turn my back on the hill there, I deserved a swift death and got one lol.

Players are used to machine guns being total nonissues. Now that they can hit close to their mark and do a bit more damage, they're no longer nonissues. If you can keep them focused on someone for a few seconds, they can rack up some surprisingly hefty damage for what amounts to free. Good for players distracted by larger teammates, or augmenting hotter weapons on lighter 'Mechs that can't bring missiles or heavy ballistics.

Once folks adjust, they'll go back to being mostly nonissues because of the facetime, but in the interim...chew up all the AtlAsses.

3 seconds with six is a slight less than 18 damage. It is not peanuts anymore, but three seconds is still a long time to deal 18 damage.

My LCT-3V is positively drooling for these powers. No, seriously. I see oil leaking from the MPL mounts. Its kinda gross.

Today is a historic day for the 6 MG spider.

Many backs of atlases will be devastated today.

Just checked in the testing ground, 13 seconds with 7 MGs on the Shadowcat to kill an Atlas firing on its rear CT. I think I can finally use a non-lore build and have fun again.

Can somebody please provide a frame of reference with a 6 c-spls ACH?

Tested a 6 SPLS Cheetah vs. Atlas backside in the testing grounds on mining collective: 9 seconds to a kill via rear CT. 5 Alpha's, no overheating, but over 90% while standing still.

Clan SPLS > MG's.

Machine Gun fanboy here. If the MG changes stay and don't get nerfed, I will probably drop money on the Ember and the Huginn and to these fun things:

HUGINN

Ummm yeah, I was just in a game with a Machine Gun toting Locust.....5 kills..including my almost fresh Nova. They hurt now.

So, you mean, expect QQ and Nerf in the next patch cycle?

BRB, buying Scats. Would have bought them anyway, since I'm switching over to Clans, but buying them sooner after hearing the feedbacks.

Tested Huginn, here's the first match.

Toned down spread enables you to shoot at one component with mg's making them usable again.

This has to stay just for the possibility of component stripping. Yes its better to kill but in the event that's not an option (too light or too weak to do it in a hit and run go) you have additional options by packing in a few tons of shenanigans. This THIS is what I was talking about with "Useful fat" in another post. Those things that make a team play better because of the implications of facing someone who isn't betting on winning the fight with you, they're betting on you not being able to make it past the next one. Great stuff. Hope this trend continues.
