I have to enquire about the logic of giving the IS players an additional 15 tonnes for faction play, did the clan dropships downgrade their engine size or something ? Seriously though how much more hand holding do IS players need to compete with clanners, there are already weapon/durability quirks to even things out.

Hehe, good one! ...or.. wait, he's serious, is he?

Immersion ... in today.

MWO is so rich in its leverage of lore and BattleTech mythology that some players are losing touch with their real lives.

For our own sakes, PGI need to dial back the way that MWO transports us to an immersive alternative reality, re-emphasizing that this is only a game.

Bravo, post of the year! XD

I like all the new information displayed in the HUD... but could that be moved to the Battlefield Info screen, toggled with (I think?) the 'Q' key? It's very cluttered. Alternately, could you instead increase the transparency of the markings the further the indicated mechs are (farther away is very transparent, closer is more opaque)? Brawls get tricky when labels are covering friendlies and I've had an increase in friendly fire as a result. A minor suggestion.

Q is very useful, always has been: I use it every match to quickly check up on teammate statuses and location. Moreover, when you're not engaged, keep Q pressed to spot teammates that are being engaged (their health drops) but are unable to alert the team. Awareness is everything!
(Do hope we get to toggle off this new stuff, Q is useful, but only at times..)

Please don't remove the icons for your team even if you don't have direct line of sight it gives you some information about where the rest of your team is without looking down at the radar.
I liked that change a lot.

This patch and the HUD icon salt made me realize: almost no-one knows of the Q button?! It's a great function, use it!

Based on some of the feedback to the previously listed changes, the hot-fix will instead see these adjustments made to HUD behavior:

- Team 'Mech weight class and status icons (such as ECM) will be persistently displayed on the HUD.
- A new Keybind will be added, mapped by default to semicolon, which will allow you to toggle the display of those persistent friendly 'Mech HUD icons on or off.
- Team Turret, UAV, and Game Mode HUD elements will no longer be persistently displayed on the HUD.

'Q' will bring up all friendly elements as usual (regardless of whether you've toggled friendly 'Mech markers off).

The hot-fix has also been pushed by two hours, and will now arrive later today at 5PM PST (1AM UTC).

I asked before but...

Are there hit reg fixes in the hot fix? ERPPCs just disappear into thin air sometimes (or simply pass through the enemy mech doing no damage) and there are instances of severe hit lag.. as in the reticle doesn't flash for a hit for a full second or longer after the shot hits

Faction Play: Leaderboard placement now requires a minimum of 10 matches played.

Great to see this is being done to make the leaderboard more representive of your active playerbase.

Would it be possible to get this change for the Quickplay leaderboard as well?

That change will apply to Quick Play Leaderboards as well actually. I've updated the hot-fix post to reflect that.

I have to inquire why this gets whined about every time PGI tries it. Why not see if it helps shift some of the player population to the IS side. Having the majority play clan will just mean few FW matches occur.

Alexander, thank you for fixing the HotFix before it ended up needing an extra HotFix. I really appreciate it. Now to look forward to how the Upcoming HotFix Patch changes things... ^_^

Oh, that reminds me! If there's a patch we need to download, could you make sure the links to download that happen to get posted up as quickly as possible so people can start downloading to patch? It would really help! :D

EDIT : I see you already have the Download Link for the HotFix already up! Thank you, that's excellent! B)

Let the Atlas in the Escort mode shoot back. Give it some medium lasers or something.

Oh well..
its time to not play faction game or just join inner sphere and smash the clans to show that inner sphere just have no coordination, thats all. Thats why they loosing. Not because they have bad mechs.

And then just wait when clans will have their 250 tonns back.

When I first intimated that they should drop Clan weight, I didn't expect, nor want IS to have 265 tons still, that is... WAY skewed. My point was that I felt if there was a balancing issue it would be more effective to take 10 from Clans than give 15 to IS since a lot of players just bulk up on more bigger, slower mechs and shoot themselves in the foot.

Eh, something tells me PGI didn't read the whole post in proper context before making that tonnage change. Personally, I was fine with 'IS' being upped to '265', while 'Clan' was left at '250', because that felt balanced to me. Oh well, this change will probably make Clanner Pilots bring less Assaults. Oh, and watch out for the 'salt content', because I'm sure you (yes, you, MovinTarget) are now the "Prime Target of Clanners" for even leaving the mere thought for PGI to grip onto. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Clanner Pilots leg you on the battlefield before they finish you off, just to make you less moving and more standstill. :P

The giant red diamonds are still terrible on the HUD. Can you just add the option to turn it all off and leave it the way it was ??
