I know there are some old schoolers who think this baby doesn't look as good as previous iterations, but it gets me there.

Not to mention piloting it is an acquired taste. I've never been one for the metabuilds.

I feel the Vindicator. MWO 'mechs have really cool, utilitarian aesthetic throughout, and to me the Vindicator is the perfect example of that.

I'm too much of a scrub to make them work in MWO, but I'll be playing them so goddamned much in HBS BattleTech.

Daishi/Dire Wolf for me. It's the ultimate badass in all the previous MW games I've played, always loaded with ridiculous amounts of weaponry, and it looks like a bulldog-jet fighter hybrid.

I have got to get me one of those purple ones. Only question is whether I think I'll spend enough MC in the future to justify the current $100 MC deal.

Mmmm. It's a beast. Just too slow for my tastes, especially in MWO. But goodness, does it lay out pain.

It's definitely better in TT, so long as there isn't pesky aerospace around......

Definitely is the perfect assault imo in TT, specifically the Prime (at least for the BV).

mmm. IDK, I think the Hellstar makes the perfect Assault. 4/6 movement, maximum armor, 4x C-ERPPC and 30 DHS, so it can use them, nonstop, with impunity.

Direwolf is of course more versatile, but aside from lobbing LRMs over walls, not much you can't accomplish with 4x CERPPCs.

You pay a lot of BV for that. You also don't have the ability to flip arms and deal with backstabbing lights with 4 cMPLs. Don't get me wrong I love the Hellstar and it is probably the perfect anti-assault assault, but I don't know that I'd consider it flexible enough for more engagements. Not to mention 300 BV is pretty significant when you actually factor that in.

You do realise you've painted that the same colour as target drones, in SAM and AAM tests during the 50's ?

if the DWF was a more efficient machine, I'd fully agree. IMO, the Prime is a case of somewhat too overarmed. It would actually be better served dropping the MPLs entirely, for more DHS and upgrading the LRM launcher. being able to pump the ERLLs and UACs into any direction makes the "CQB" MPLs largely superfluous. 2-3 more DHS in their stead makes it more effective, as a whole.

Can't argue the BV portion, though, it does cost (though in cbills, it's 4-5 million cheaper).

That said, I consider that 4/6 movement well worth the extra cost. A lot of people just see a 1 mp difference, but 1 mp each turn adds up to a lot, by the end of the match.

Of course, the real mystery? Why is there no 4x LPL Warhawk? Now that would have been a beast... although IIRC correctly, TCs no longer work in conjunction with Pulse Laser bonuses? My old salvaged one was 4x C-LPL, a TC, an extra DHS, ECM and a spare half ton of armor. Now their was an efficient killer, in the old days.

Honestly I'd rather the LRM be dropped and add more DHS if at all possible. Those MPL are fairly handy, more handy than the LRM10 imo.

I don't believe you can make aimed shots with pulse and TCs, but you do get the to-hit bonus still iirc.

I guess they thought it might be too powerful for the Warhawk, doesn't matter though since the A, B, and D do a good job for the BV (I've only played TT with equal BV matches, so I tend to base judgements on that).

It can't call shots anymore thanks to the rules on how pulse lasers work, same for double tapping UAC/s, still stacks when shooting normally though.... So a bit of a wash really.

Then again taking a +4 to hit, with out moving at short range puts an average clan pilot at a 7+... that's not that bad if you want to decapitate a mech with a cERPPC or two... Also makes the Adder prime a real beast for the BV and tonnage...

Naw, it makes it over-BV'd if anything. That much BV in something that is that fragile is generally bad, it is why the Fire Moth D is not ever used in BV based battles unless you are crazy.

I've seen Adders murder things that are nearly twice their BV thanks to being able to call shots... but yes, generally speaking, like most Clan mechs they cost too much BV for what you get a lot of the time.

eh, LRMs allow indirect fire. MPLs don't really provide anything the ERLLS don't beside their accuracy bonus, but I'd rather take out 10 pt chunks, even without the to hit bonus.

Alternately, drop the ERLLS AND MPLS, and pack 4 LPLs, 2 UAC5s. That would give you the CQB bonus of the MPLs, better damage, and range. Since you really cna't use the MPL and ERLLS together, anyhow.
DWF-PRIME

Add ECM and Bob's your uncle.
