Now with a new skill system and a Civil War update there is no chance for a new maps in near future, this means Crimson Strait forever and a light mechs plus ATM's i have a strange feeling that nothing good will come out of this.
Sorry, that's just who i am. I always look for something bad in something good.
honestly, map wise, i'd love to see a dedicated Military Base/City map. Full urban. like, one the size of Alpine Peaks, but with buildings. could even have multiple levels, like Parkades or... oooo... maybe a Castle Brian-style base with underground sections.
@Nimnul: because the Mad Cat Mk. II never WAS an Omni. Do some research next time. the Mad Cat series never actually went back to being Omnis till the Dark Age Era Mad Cat Mk. IV.
@Skyrider: looks like they stopped at 3067, which is why HAGs didn't get in.. though.... honestly, think about how they fire... it's a constant stream of slugs, that you'd have to track a target with. I've noticed not a whole hell of a lot of Clanners are good with the "tracking" part, hence the noted preference for ERPPCs, Gauss, LBXs, etc. That and they're going for FedCom Civil War. HAGs didn't really come into use until after, when the Jihad started. IS isn't getting Plasma Rifles either. and Clan RACs...were only ever experimental. they never actually adopted the design, mostly because, you know, HAGs. if we're gonna add in Experimental Tech, the IS would be getting probably another six or seven weapon systems, like the Silver Bullet Gauss or Blazer.

@Brakkyn: actually... with the new IS tech, gotta remember our versions of stuff tends to be a lot bulkier or run hotter than the Clan versions. so the older tech'll still have its place. It'll likely just get superceded on some mechs, like, say, Atlases loading out LB20s or Heavy Gauss in that RT Ballistic. Also bear in mind Streaks choose where they go themselves, so regular SRMs will still have better pinpoint, and MRMs are unguided, so actually HITTING a guy out at mid-range is still going to be a problem if they're moving. RAC mechs'll overheat pretty quickly (it's one heat per shot, and you'd bust out 100 rounds pretty fast with 'em)
so on, so forth. new tech is nice, but they're all gonna have drawbacks.

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking it is an intentional move to make the "collectors" packs more valuable. Should have just left Collectors at 60 days Premium time and been done with it...

I have no idea how on earth you managed to look several months into the future for that.
If it's about massive missile STs, I could understand that. But at the same time, the versions lacking ST missiles may not have obnoxiously huge missile racks. Hopefully not.
At the same time though... Double Gauss, quad ERMLs? Nothing really terrible about that. Not sure where you got OMG HYPER VULNERABLE from.

As a person who mainly uses clan mechs i would have preferred a lower heat shorter range laser version over something that reads like a reskinned pulse laser.
That being said MAD CAT MKII, i am so excited!!!

Heavy Lasers are basically standard Clan lasers that do stupid amounts of damage with less range while also generating much more heat and disrupting the electronics on the mech firing them. In a game with actual heat penalties, this would probably translate to your HUD going fuzzy like it would when hit by a PPC in older games for a short time every time you fired. Back in Classic Battletech, a Heavy Medium Laser had the range of an IS Medium Laser, with slightly more damage and slightly less heat than an IS Large Laser.

IS LB-X and Ultra, LAMS, Heavy Lasers and the most important one Light Fusion Engine (my Atlases are ready)! Soo good
But I miss the Machine Gun array and the X-Pulse Lasers
The MG's arrays are only in MechWarrior 4, and only because of the way the ammo is added to the weapon system.
