Well in all honesty, we must all wait and see for the actual release. Then we'll have exact numbers, and items, and new tech to play with and tinker, and spend countless hours perfecting and polishing, once against becoming massive metallic killing machines, (( except the trashcans, go do a barrel roll :P )) It'll be interesting to see exactly how this pans out, and the actual numbers for all the new numbers. UNTIL THEN, que up for cw, good place to practice and ear some dosh. Till then good hunting all.

also, for all the Smoke Jags.. well... if they do remove the clan, you know WHY that clan was wiped out, right? Had to do with, you know, Orbitally bombarding the city of Edo on the planet of Turtle Bay, populated of roughly ten million people to melted glass and ash... because they had the gall to actually resist you... which in turn caused the IS to forget their differences for awhile, set up Operations Bird Dog and Bulldog, plow their way through Smoke Jaguar's holdings, track you all the way back to the Clan Homeworlds, and beat the crap out of you on your home planet of Huntress.

And i'm not even gonna bring up Star Colonel Kotare, who really only gave them further reasons to want to wipe you out.

Unless they get rid of ghost heat, or give clans true dhs, I have this bad feeling that heavy lasers will be nearly useless, even with the increased dmg. I'm also worried about how they implement RACs, I like them, but I can see how utterly broken they can be, especially since PGI couldn't balance weapons to save their own lives. On the plus side, my Protector finally gets it's snub-nose PPC, and Cougar :3

Looks good, but I am disappointed the first released IS mechs aren't part of the first wave of IS Omnimechs, Owens, Avatar, Hauptmann to name a few.

Not that I have anything against the 2 choices (love the Annihilator). But it seemed like a no brainer to send out IS Omnimechs with all the new tech right away, This update screams bringing IS on par with Clan Omni on both side would sure be a step there.

Agreed. Heavy Lasers will be near useless for most builds with limited pod space.

RACs should be heavier and occupy at least 1 more slot than the normal AC, otherwise we'll se tiny mechs boasting an insanely powerful weapon meant for heavys and assaults; jamming would be no issue for them since they can easily get behind cover and wait it out.

@Cypher: they will be. a RAC/2 is 8 tons, RAC/5s are 10. plus they'll go through ammo at an insane rate, Most Likely Jam often, but this actually a plus, as even a three-second burst from a Mech boating them would cook you, given they give one heat a shot, and likely fire about eight rounds a second.

that's never going to happen because it would cause huge matchmaking problems.

While my clan mechs may cry a bit (atms and heavy lasers, thank you....thank you....) this is awesome.

Being a mostly clan player however! a bump to 3069 would be nice.
In that time period, generally clans and IS have a good veriety of tech on both ends.
Untill 3069 clans dont produce RACS or HAGS. (hags being the clan response to the IS heavy gauss)
AND! everyone gets machinegun arrays, and plasma weapons! (plasma rifle for IS, more damage, less heat damage. plasma cannon for clan, more heat damage, less regular damage)

Personally i wont wine, timeline is timeline.
Hopefully soon after, this next update, we can move forward 2 more years and even the variety playing field even more :)
(IS still gets more options but hey, least we could have racs n hags ;) )

I am soo mad. After playing this game for years. FOR YEARS!!!!! We loyalist clan members have been through so much and dealt with all the BS. WHY PGI are you still cutting us short. You want to know why Faction play didn't work out to your spec? Because you keep pooping on us loyalist Clans!! This get me soo mad. I'm sick of being cheated when i spend so much money into clan and get nothing for it. What the point of me being clan anymore!! What the point of you releasing new clan mech when your overpowering the other side with nuke weapons?

I am tired of being cheated. So tired.

This is fine, the game has been to imbalanced for too long. IS has just been getting wiped over and over and over and over. At least now they can have a bit of a hope. All we do is just keep winning, its no fun if you guys never win, wheres the challenge? Welcome to having a chance.

Kodiak and Dire Wolf are definitely gonna have some serious competition between the Annihilator and the other IS Ballistic guys getting access to those new Ballistics we get :)

They should just say **** it, cheat 2 years.
and add in hags and racs for clan now.
Hell they cheated the timeline with the bushwacker, do it with clan racs and hags.
Clan kinda needs those weapons to be equivalent :(


Aside from that, we need plasma and mg arrays dangit XD!

Dude, he means WEAPONS TECH for toys. Not mechs.

@Dragoon: No Clan RACs. They were only ever experimental. if they started giving out experimental weapons, the IS would be getting about seven more weapon systems, like the Blazer and SBG. Clan RACs in fact mostly got canned because of the HAG showing up.

@Mechanic: Honestly, you probably WANT that Jam. since without it, your mech is likely to cook. my unit did some math, and you could overheat a Mech boating RACs in roughly three seconds, judging with 1 heat per shot, roughly 8 shots a second per RAC. Adds up pretty damn fast. Course, you could also do 33.3 damage in a second with a pair of RAC/2s, so it really is a decent tradeoff.
