PGI could, I dunno, streamline the purchase process? Simplify it? It seems to be confusing for some people and obvious for others.

Free-to-play can be a pain in the butt.

because they're NOT **** pieces? the Annihilator is literally going to make Dire Wolf and Kodiak pilots cry.... and it will be beautiful.

Well, Anni actually is very close to Dire Wolf hardpoints-wise if maybe less flexible, but Kodi? This is not even funny, man. As a Clan loyalist I say that they should bump Anni engine cap all the way to 400, maybe King Krab's 360 at the absolute least. Ever noticed the Mean Baby hero name? In its current state I would wager it will join a certain other mech at the bottom of IS assault pile (before fixes) with a similarly named hero version... oh wait, even the paint job is somewhat similar Posted Image

so now the standard pack does not come with any premium time, first PGI remove the premium Mechs with the cbill bonus from the base level of the preorder making them an optional extra, then they remove premium time?

If PGI keep reducing the value of the packs I am likely to stop buying them.

When the announcement was made that they were going back to multimech packs I hoped that meant a return to the $20-$30 a tier with a premium Mech and premium time included, which was much better value than these.

they could simply have done $20 per tier with a premium Mech and some premium time, or $30 for a specific single chassis including the premium Mech.

back in the tiered pack days I almost always purchased the full pack but since they switched to the single Mech packs once a month I am rarely buying anything other than the basic pack, and only getting that about half the time, in short the switch has reduced rather than increased what I am paying into MWO.

out of this pack I will probably just buy Uziel for nostalga (it being my favorate Mech in MW4, if the others had included a premium Mech and premium time I would have likely purchased the whole pack, but with no Mech with the cbill boost I am not willing to risk money on 3 Mechs there is a reasionable chance I will not enjoy piloting.

sorry PGI

As above, not happy with the cut in the premium time and switching it from banked to active. Unfortunately, 30 days of active premium time starting on July 18th is almost useless for me. As for the (apparent) lack of a special variant with +30% c-bills, I can potentially understand from the perspective of potentially trying to limit the pay-to-win aspect of this game, but I am really not sure why PGI would do that. All of these changes suggest PGI wants to limit pay-to-win, but it also makes me less interested in paying-to-win.

there is no pay to win in this game, what you are refering to with the cbill bonus is pay to save time.

So not that PGI thinks there are only a few noticing it: no premiumtime for standard and half the amount active instead banked for collectors? Seriously?

I am a little confused....so, if I buy the Uziel standard $20....reinforcements + standard $35...hero + reinforcements + standard = $50, but to get the collectors edition with all those mechs I pay $70? For the extra dollars I get some dangling cockpit items with modest boosts and some premium time? So, the March package change was a reduction in value, because I used to get premium time with each level of package.

Also, the Cougar, admittedly a light, is cheaper while the medium Uziel package is the same cost as the assaults?

I am just trying to make sense of the logic here and make sure I understand what is going on before deciding to make a purchase. These changes seem odd to me. I had no problem with the previous 20 + 15 +15 with all the rewards since there seemed to be good value there.

Honestly having some trouble seeing the value or equity in the Uziel collectors and ultimate packs here. Right now, if I buy at all, I will probably just buy via the 20+15+15 route (assuming I want them all) and forego the package bonuses I guess.

Thanks!

i would really like to get the 5% Bonus hanging and standing items, but i just like the uziel and the mad cat mkII, if i want all i have to pay $260 :D thats too much for me, sadly. specialy when i don't really want the other two mechs :/

also in the past i clearly prefered the clan mechs, i'm not sure if this will change after the update. This makes me unsure which one to buy^^

If you buy the 2 inner sphere Ultimate Packages, do you get the hanging and standing bonuses or just the standing items?

Also do the hero mech have the Cbill bonus, and would these stack? (30% hero mech C-bills bonus, Hanging Item with a 5% C-bills Boost,Standing Item with a 5% C-bills Boost = 40% Cbill Bonus)

And will girls think I am cool? ;)

Think I am with the majority on this..
1) Diluting the value of the packs is not a good thing... this how i "buy" premium time and bank is the best option for me, I work shift or am away regularly so it become wasted time
2) Not offering them as a group discount also not great ... I would normal buy a full pack or second highest tier because of the extras. In this format I really must think if I want each chassis because I not getting any value from the extras, I have mechs that I have not used from packs because they don't work for me

I actually like what being presented but not sure if it enough to part with a $100 maybe $20 maybe

OMG... I must have them all. Dammit PGI, I'm trying to get my debt in check here!

Also, I know the Annihilator started as an IS design and then disappeared, and it didn't appear again until the Wolf's Dragoons came into the IS, but wouldn't it more of a Clan mech now since it was originally for the SLDF? I guess it doesn't matter since it is a battlemech and not an omni.

I thought I was a lore-junkie but perhaps I am wrong.

I thought the Civil War was internal to the Federated Commonwealth but when I am asked to choose a side my choices are IS and Clans?

Also, those mechs... The Uziel, granted, was deployed by the LAAF, but the Annihilator was mostly found on Arc-Royal which sat out the civil war.

As for the 'other' side a Clan mech produced by Jade Falcon and one by Diamond Sharks for export to the IS market...that is being sold with 'clan loyalist' stuff attached.

So if this is about the civil war, where is the Davion mech? And why aren't the Mad Cat MkIIs being sold to the IS?

Now that I think about it, that is true. Doesn't actually make sense for the Annhilator to be in there. And I remember about Diamond Shark selling downgraded Mad Cat MKIIs to the IS. Maybe PGI needs to figure out how they will allow IS to use Clan tech first. Also.. as far as Clans even being in this, I think they still tried to take advantage of the civil war and attempt to capture more planets.. well, Jade Falcon at least. But I do agree there should be a Davion mech instead of the Annihilator.

annihilator = 48 tons with 68 points of armor in each limb, 300 std engine, 77/7 ST, 117/7CT, 14 H (armor is based off of what i have on the king crab minus the +17 armor for the arms and left 16 available to the legs just in case it has less armor on them in terms of how much can be put on it).

now given the new weapon systems and hardpoints coming out, if you were to pop on endosteel and/or that new ferro fibrous, you would get +5 tons for endosteel and around 1 ton for the new ferro fibrous armor given that it's not as much as the stuff we have now which would only give -1.8 tons at the amount of armor i have listed above being on the mech. don't know the math on that as i didn't quite look at it, but i'm just guesstimating here at the tonnage for the armor, you should with the new weapons, be able to pile it on like most fat people pile on toppings or cake in their pie holes and "have it your way"... like us fat muricans love to do at whatever fast food burger joint we go to.

the king crab would go 48.6 without speed tweak with an std 300 engine, so yeah this annihilator is going to be slowboating it, but it makes up for it with all that extra tonnage in weapons you have without using endosteel or ferro.

that is again, 48 tons of sheer firepower to dish out, with a little window to poke over the top of a cliff like a periscope, i think i am starting to fall in love with it just doing the math and seeing in my minds eye what it could be capable of..

yeah, this is me trying to push myself into getting the ultimate packages for them and loving the mechs..

i'll feel like geth i think his name was from mass effect when i pilot that thing... "we are legion"....

the uziel comes pre kitted out with endo and xl engines already, nuff said.

cougar's were not meant to be lights per se that run around the battle field picking at the back armor of some ****** that gets too far from the pack, no, that thing is a pure nasty "cougar" that's slow but toting about 19 tons of guns from my math.

that can help you guesstimate what the ATM missile launchers are going to weigh, and the heavy machine guns as well.

considering the heavy medium lasers are 1 ton each after properly doing the math, those little things are going to be nasty 2nd line fighters that can roll with the group breaking off flanking, or just doing what anything else does as a second line fighter. i like how that mech looks too, my opinion though.. and that MILF sticker, oh you know it's sold.

did not even need to do math on the mk2 as just looking at the symmetry and arms as shields, its going to be a rather NASTY mech. 2 variants in the mk2 do not have missiles, so those bunny ears or whatever wont be there on those mechs, however seeing as pgi likes to make things that shift dynamically to what is placed in them, im guessing that the boxs will not be there if you do not have any missiles in those spots for the other variants.

i love the symmetry of that mech, so yes, ill be buying that ultimate and the cougar next month.

as for the uziel, only 2 of it's variants are symmetrical with the rest having almost symmetrical values to them given your own personal modifications to them. i will be buying this with the annihilator as soon as i can afford it after i get the clan stuff (have to finish my drop decks for clanners and have that secured first), due to the part that although it might have a wonky wide build, just like you see with the cataphract, when you turn to the side it offers very little in the way of a target, and give that it is a lot lighter, it can do this much faster, and the arms are much smaller, so having weapons in those arms may prove at medium to longer ranges a great benefit as those will be harder to destroy.

up close and personal though, just like any other mech, the size of the arms will not matter due to how big the side torsos are, and anyone with a decent aim can hit this thing like the cataphract causing the arm and side torso to disappear, and if the engines aren't upgraded to the LFE's we will be getting or even a STD, then it wont matter period.

as for me, i think that the non obvious winners are just diamonds in the rough waiting for some YT star to pick it up and put a shine to it so the community will go OH SNAP...

pgi you did good work, whether the community as a whole sees it or not, i do.

Still same pricing mode?

Why would I want to buy three or worse still five variants when I just need one to XP-up?

I would think they would change the model to a single mech for say 10, but any three for 15 and five for 20.

So that those that like 2 models would straight go for the 3 pack.

In the past, one still buys three mechs to level the first two to basics, and the preferred one to full elite/master mode. Now there is no need to.

The current mech pack needs to evolve.

Looking at the comments here, is showing that the web page is poorly designed for people that go OOoohh MECHS ! and not look at the page properly to find the collectors and ultimate deals.

the one thing a lot of people seem to be missing about the Uziel pack's pricing? it's not that it costs as much as the Assault Mechs. It's that the Assault Mechs cost as much as Heavy packs. remember the Resistance Assault Heroes actually have $25 pricetags. and they're single mechs too. Add to that the Uziel's the first Medium to come standard with the new tech as well, and the pricing makes a tad more sense.

Active premium time, bad camo choices, weak decals, poor hero, and special camo on the I.S.

XP and c-bill boosts for whales..

I don't think this is quite as bad, as when you purchased, they gave you the extra bits almost immediately so you couldn't cancel, but the cut backs are not going to encourage sales, and the boosts don't make up for it

Fair enough. I see that I missed the FAQ on the special variant anyway which does in fact have the +30% c-bill bonus.

I would call saving time winning though. Posted Image
