I'd wished more people gave the Toyama a chance. It's the only mech I would consider dishing out money for the IS side now. There are still alot of hidden gems out there that will get ignored unfortunately.

To go with the Toyama, I'd love PGI to resurrect the Dragoon

Clan can have the Glass Spider & Rifleman IIC

Then we just need a 70 & 75 ton Clan 'mech with the "gun arm" Rifleman aesthetic to complete the set!

Meh, not enough tonnage for 12 ac2 and ammo.

4 tons of ammo Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
would need to drop at least 2 ac2 and mgs and put everything into ammo at which point its just ultraviolet with better hardpoint placement.

but cant deny it looks dope as ****.

would buy for looks alone if it was anywhere close to that picture.

I so want this puppy.

Some of those hidden gems are IS Omnis, though. Raptor, Men Shen, Blackhawk-KU, maybe even the Sunder and Templar have real potential. Dragon Fire, Toyama, Lynx are really just more meta-favored extensions of 'Mechs we've already got in the game (Marauder, Rifleman, and Blackjack, respectively), mostly by virtue of being heavier but also by having a few more hardpoints or JJs.

While I think the Toyama would be essentially a better version of the Thanatos, the Toyama would have alot to offer to the plate. I honestly wouldn't care if PGI played homage to the 1B and 1C with their own variants since those mechs have tech that is not available in the time line yet.

PGI will have to be careful with their IS Omnimech selections however. Some Omnimechs are just flat out hot garbage.

I could get behind this idea. I'm not sure how the Glass Spider and Rifleman IIC would synergize with each other in MW:O, but maybe PGI could give the Glass Spider a fire control system quirk for any mechs around it within a certain radius on it's team. That would be neat.

I affiliate the Toyama more with the Rifleman because the build it is going to be a champion at, 3x ERLL + Gauss, is built identically on the RFL-3N; 3x ERLL in the torso and Gauss in the arm. Same mount height, too. It's just the RFL has to use an XL to do it and the TOY, at 75 tons, will be able to do it with a reasonably sized LFE.

It's a 'Mech I've been championing for awhile now, it has some solid emergent potential without the quirks, and if it gets range quirks (as it should, being fire support), then it'll be just dandy.

Naturally. That's why we've been pushing the ones I mentioned and not things like the Strider or Owens, or even the Celestials. They are just...bad.

If I had to compile a list of mechs in the Mechwarrior games that are missing in MWO, here would be the missing roster.

Mechwarrior 2
Fire Moth (Dasher)
Warhammer IIC
Rifleman IIC

3 Mechs Missing

Mechwarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy
Incubus (Vixen)
Stone Rhino (Behemoth)
Horned Owl (Peregrine)
Hatamoto-Chi
Phantom
Grizzly
Naga

7 Mechs Missing

Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries
Hornet
Mongoose
Battle Hawk
Clint
Sentinel
Whitworth
Wolf Trap
Grim Reaper
Bombardier
Rakshasa
Flashman
Thug
Salamander

13 Mechs Missing

Mechwarrior 3
Owens
Sunder
Avatar
Black Hawk KU - Yes I know it is a Nova, but the Mechwarrior 3 version of this mech becomes a cannon mech later on.
Strider
Firefly
Champion

7 Mechs Missing

Mechwarrior 3 Pirate's Moon
Clint IIC

1 Mech Missing

Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance
Argus
Chimera

2 Mechs Missing

Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries
Flea - To be honest, the Flea should come out now. The IS deserves another 20-ton mech to add to the bracket. At this point, there is no excuse.
Hauptmann
Templar
Hellhound (Conjurer)
Longbow

5 Mechs Missing

PGI will most likely cave in and give into releasing IS Omnimechs I'm going to bet for a majority of 2018. Not many MW4 options left for the game, and God only knows if they will bother releasing more reseens (I'd wish we would get a straight answer from Russ with that situation, but that's not going to happen anytime soon).

Yeah I wish the Toyama and Dragonfire could get more support. FLG is spot on, we need less pure nostalgia and need to think about how they will perform in game.

But if someone makes a poll with only what a "select few" think is "good enough" it would likely get shouted down for being biased. Then again, the last one did alright.

Well that one had a specific purpose. Still, for a general poll this one got pretty large.

Yeah, that is why we suggest Raptor/Men-Shen/Black Hawk-KU/Sunder. Hauptmann would be okay too actually,I think it can do dual heavy gauss.. can't remember if the slot restrictions allow it or not.

But yeah, people clamoring for the Strider and Owens is just sad.

If we're arguing IS omnis, the Templar is the best of all of them.

It really isn't... Low slung arms, max of 1B and 3E in the side torsos, limited slots.. just nah.

I'd love to have a Hauptmann, if only for the laser cigar. I just hope PGI doesn't turn the head's laser hardpoint into a gagball like the La Malinche.

Since we are going to March soon, I am expecting one these mechs to come out as mech packs:
1. Rifleman IIC
2. Firemoth (Dasher)
3. Stone Rhino (Behemoth)
4. Warhammer IIC
5. Locust IIC

The Rifleman IIC and Warhammer IIC might get sidelined due to the whole HG lawsuit happening. The Fire Moth could work if it was given the same engine of the Pirahna and have its MASC tweaked. So far the only two mechs I can see coming are the Locust IIC and the Stone Rhino. But I think that the Stone Rhino might come first.

I'd say the Dragonfire would be fairly unique because it has ballistic arms & Ecm. No 70, 75 or 80 tonner has ballistic arms & ecm (well there's the Cataphract I guess...). Does the DFire have LAA? It doesn't look like it.

How about a 75 tonner with ballistics arms, no LAA, ECM & JJs? Hammerhands!

Granted, it wouldn't be as good as the Dragon Fire, but...
