interesting does not necessarily mean good. Just saying. And good certainly does not mean interesting. (honda civic/toyota camry/glock anyone?)

I get that, but interesting doesn't mean masochistic. I mean, the Vindicator isn't really interesting, nor is it good, it just looks cool. A BJ-O isn't really interesting because we already have the standard Blackjack, I will use the same reasoning for not seeing the FS9-O too.

but apparently masochism IS interesting... only way to explain all the idiots who seem to shell out money for 50 Shades of Grey in any form.

FTFY, not saying I'm necessarily that different given how many mechs I've mastered, I would just prefer more unique options before we go to the Omni upgrades.

I'm not actually disagreeing. I want new and different (well or old and different like the Vulcan... those hitboxes should be awesome!) or nostalgia. It's why I tend to not be interested in vanilla metastick model 35.

Did you not see the number of matches I have in Blackjacks? I want moar!

Besides , IS omni is interesting by default, given we have zero. Plus, it looks awesome. Plus, it can cram in a lot of guns.

If we have the Men Shen, then we will have 1 Posted Image

I'd prefer we get the Raptor or the Haupty, or Sunder, or Avatar, or etc, before the BJ-O.

I mean, the Hauptmann is IS and locked with an XL going 52 kph right? I have strong concerns about that little guy.

Pretty sure it is a STD engine, not XL.

Everything is STD (structure, armour, engine). That means a lot of pod-space in terms of crits, which favours bulky, hot weapons like UAC/20 or HPPC. However it also means rather low available tonnage.
I don't think the Hauptmann would be a Kodiak-beater, I think it would be a capable-enough Mech. Since it looks cool and has some importance in the lore, I would definitely buy it.

285 fusion... so standard
Standard internals
Standard armour
11 DHS
CASE RT

That's not horrible for locked equipment for a 95t IS Omni...

may be first time I have ever heard it said the Hauptman looks cool. Looks are subjective though, so who am I to argue? (though honestly always felt it was the Inner Sphere's answer to the Turkina... big, ugly, dumb name, and such....:/ )

The Hauptmann looks like a fat Gargoyle with a shoulder cannon (legs notwithstanding). I think Ogre would have been a better name, shame that it's already taken

Ah okay, well there is hope for it then. Actually it looks like it can do dual heavy gauss, but SSW on this computer doesn't work properly so I can't see for sure.

I think the stupidity of the name, and the explanation of it, might be the biggest reason I hate it. The Sunglass wearing Kitty head with a cigar, doesn't help, though. And the general.. "I'm bored and need to make a mech for this TRO... let's make it as plain and boxy as imaginable" aesthetics.

The Charlie Varaint already packs a HGR in the RT..

Alt. Config. C:
  • The C configuration of the Hauptmann is intended to close with its enemies and wear them down as it approaches, delivering the killing blow at short range. For long range combat, the Hauptmann C carries an LRM-20 launcher linked to an Artemis IV fire control system to increase the accuracy of its missiles. For close combat, the Hauptmann C has a massive Heavy Gauss Rifle. This is supported by two ER Medium Lasers, an ER Small Laser, and a Medium Pulse Laser. This configuration of the Hauptmann has an additional two double heat sinks and a Guardian ECM Suite to protect itself from enemy electronic warfare systems.

In theory it could pack dual HGR's (By using either prime LT with A-D RT's) with 7t of ammo as she has 43t of pod space.

I think my lack of desire for the Hauptmann stemmed from thinking all those big ballistics were in the same side torso. Now that I know there is a ballistic omni-pod for each side torso, it is considerably more useful. Frankly they should just do an IS omni Wave 1 akin to the Clan Wave 1.
