The mechs that might actually make me whip out my wallet are the Marauder II(particularly the comical 4H variant) and the Crusader. Oh and the Arcas, but that has a snowballs chance in hell of ever becoming reality.

I just don't believe it when people say they would only buy like 2 or 3 mechs. I mean this is a pretty big universe of stompy robots. Also, nobody puts the Berserker on that list and I have to think we'd all buy it (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Berserker). I mean, who would not get a 100 ton ECM mech with an XL 400, MASC, and a giant ******* hatchet? Come on now, you know you'd buy this too.

Because it's an IS 'Mech and all those gimmicks are useless because of it. Can't spare the weight.

If we ever got melee the Berzerker would be a must have but without melee it's underarmed and there are better choices.

Oh yeah that's what mechs in MWO need. A hatchet.

I prefer the Berserker with LFE and TSM. Nothing says love like a 40 point hatchet (or in TT 2 20 point punches).

Well it's cool but in practice melee mechs would suck

Well melee would be PPFLD, but a lot would depend on the cooldown. Getting point blank is not all that hard on many of the maps. It would at least be a decent damage weapon for no heat.

I would all for melee mechs if they were implemented properly and if we had a working melee combat system. I would love to have this bad boy but I think it's wishful thinking at this point in time.

Would it be absurd, sure. Would melee break the game, yes. Should they do it, probably not.

Would we buy it... YES!!!!

Gas, I want assaults with at least one ballistic in each torso and arm, in the 90-100 ton range, with >=45 tons of pod space, and goes at least 58. What do I vote for? IS or Clan. Night Star fails because it's not a cbill bonus variant, no interest in reinforcements.

I really, really don't get how 450 people think that the Hollander is a good idea? I mean it looks awesome and I really like its history, but this mech would just do genuinely do badly in this game. You can already recreate the original build in this game using the Firestarter. and I did it. Guess what? It's absolute garbage.

With a little hardpoint inflation, it could be at least as good as the Panther. Which is to say not all that good. I still want it, even after the way the Uziel turned out. There's always the outside hope it gets Urbanmech level quirks Posted Image

Yes, it will be so f***ing bad that it won't be funny.

Then again, we have Uziel, which is the most terrible medium mech you can buy right now.

Then Cougar, the most terrible light mech you can buy right now.

Then we will have Hellspawn, which will steal the crown from Uziel as "The most terrible medium mech."

Then we will have Thanatos, which will be the most terrible heavy mech you will be able to buy.

And we will have Black Lanner, which might steal the crown (lol) from Hellspawn as "The most terrible medium mech."

You must realize, despite extremely declined population, most of the people buying the mech do not care about the performance, yet.

But we are getting there, we don't have much of mechs that have strong nostalgia now....

I so want the Cerberus.

With these Variants: MR-5M/MR-V2 & V3 and two variants with the Hero.

I'll sum it up in two words for you: GAUSS RIFLE!

Put a gauss rifle on a Raven or Firestarter then and let's not waste a mech release.

I am not sure about that, especially not in case of the light Mech voting. I mean we know the Lights are the least played weight class by far, yet the votes are almost as numerous as the votes in the other classes.

So I must assume many, many people voted for a light Mech although they rarely if ever play one. And that would explain a lot. And it means something for the sales projection, too...

Quirks and hardpoint inflation can of course save even the Hollander. The thing is... it is really a waste of a release considering all those great light IS Mechs available - Mechs which really add something new (the Hollander does not).

Like the Raptor, Razorback or Stiletto?

Raptor not only adds an IS OmniMech to the mix, plus another 25 tonner, but an impressive gunboat to rival the Piranha, with the ability to run up to 11E!

Razorback allows for some Urbanmech-style MG builds, but with a larger engine.

Stiletto gives IS a 3rd ECM 35 tonner, coming in Energy & Missile flavours, with geometry likely a mixture of the Raven, Osiris & Jenner.

Hm, maybe only the Raptor truly adds something out of those 3...

Speaking of the Stiletto, I'd love to get my hands on the Fire Falcon. The mech the Stiletto was based off of. Now that's a mean 25 ton mech!
