These are the only viable designs that I could find for the Steel Vipers:
Battle Cobra
Vapor Eagle (Goshawk)
Black Python (Viper)

Vapor Eagle and Black Python would both be great mechs.
Sadly the Roflman IIC is destroying the Black Python on the polls, and the Vapor Eagle trails the Shadow Hawk IIC. Anything can happen though. Honestly, I might buy a Clan heavy or medium, but from here on out, the only sure buys are assaults. I guess I would get some IS omnis, I do like the Raptor and Black Hawk-KU, and Men-Shen.

I love the Coyotl, she's so dang nasty in TT... makes me sad that it was mothballed for the improvement called the Viper.... I don't know ton for ton I usually find that a Coyotl will kill a Viper about 75% the time in TT....
It makes me sad, that the Coyotl was only mothballed due to the supplement it came in, so that they could have an excuse as to why the Viper was in TRO 3050 rather than the Coyotl... Still I'd like to see PGI take the Coyotl into MWO, it'd make a great 40t option beside the Viper... better hill humper too, thanks to the high mounts on the Coyotl.

The Rflman iic is a combo of nostalgia and ppl that see high hardpoints but don't think beyond that. The BPython suffers from being relativly unknown.

I don't really see what's so sad about the Rifleman IIC leading in the polls, other than the fact that it's suffering from unseen lawsuit syndrome. It has alot going for it in the heavy clan department.

It will probably become a popular choice go-to mech for FP (whoever plays that anymore) since it can be treated like a pocket assault mech. If PGI decides to give it the sensor boost quirks due to the radar dish, then we will probably be looking at a 65 ton clan cyclops.

I mean, it'll be decent. It's just the BPython would be much stronger, probably compete for best heavy good and would take the crown unless ruined horribly.

After reading about the Black Python it doesn't seem like a bad mech. The Prime would seem like it's highlight and it's best variant. Unfortunately, I could see PGI going full lazy mode with this one and rehashing out the supernova and cougar models to make a quick 75 clan ton frankenmech.

That original TRO artwork is pretty damn nasty (and I mean that in not a good way). It's going to take some work from Alex to make this thing appealing other than model recycling.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something about the mech. It's Unseen. GG.

The Rifleman doesn't get anything in that department, so expecting the IIC to seems like wishful thinking.

Given that you're trying to get an unseen IIC into the game, I'm not sure I'd use this as my argument against a 'mech, if I were you.

Well it's a battlemech, not an omni.

It's a possible quirk that PGI could add. Consider it's a clan battlemech it probably won't have any quirks. As for the unseen argument, I suppose no one wins until the court trial in September. I'm just pointing it out and didn't mean to sound like it was an argument.

Hmm, you mean Ebon Jaguar then?

There are far worse drawings. Black Python is still better than 80% of other ugly mechs!

But whichever mech comes out first, I will buy them just to have a Sombrero/Asian hat mech.

I would honestly rather have the Rifleman IIC first for a few reasons.
1) Having both mechs in game will cause role conflictions.
2) The Rifleman IIC already does what the Glass Spider can do, but with more load out variety and better customization options.
3) Three canon variants in which they all boat the same class of weapon systems. Two ballistic vomits and one energy vomit vs the mix tech of the RFL-IIC 3 and RFL-IIC 4.
4) PGI will either have to compensate with non-canonical additional mixed variants for the upgraded package, or make a non-canonical paywall hero with mixed hardpoints.
5) The Rifleman IIC would sell more on nostalgia and canonical lore variety alone.
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against the Glass Spider itself, but I think it would be beneficial just to wait in this case. There are better 60 ton clan options like the Predator http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Predator or the Matador http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Matador . Unfortunately, the clan 60 ton department doesn't get a lot of love due to their lack of variety in this weight class.
