Looked it up, and right you are. However, the Pouncer does have locked JJs. Strangely, it has 5 instead of 6, so that is 2.5 locked in tons. And it has almost the identical Loadout as the Adder, and looks like an Adder, more or less.

So you get bumped into the medium class at 40 tons, gain no speed, modest jump ability, and a 15 ton payload? Just doesn't add much, IMO. Most folks would be fine taking the Adder. Most serious players (read: not me) that want a clan medium take a Hunchie IIC anyway.

If we have a clan medium, I think the Shadow Hawk IIC and the Griffin IIC are better choices. I just wish clan BattleMechs weren't strictly better than Clan Omnis in MWO, but that is a whole nother kettle of fish, entirely.

Well for the Clans the Vapor Eagle is pretty much the best thing that you could ask for.

If the next Clan Mech is a Heavy here would be the choices:

Thresher (60 tons)

Crossbow (60 tons)

Glass Spider [Galahad] (60 tons) - It is a VMI mech, so it could be used to replace the Rifleman IIC if the latter is out of the question.

Lupus (60 tons) - It is a pre-cursor of the Hellfire. It was known to survive into the present day of the Clans. In the game, all that would be have to be done is just use the Hellife body and give it Omnimech technology.

Arcas (65 tons) - It would add a non-Omni 65 tonner to the mix.

Rifleman IIC (65 tons) - It would act as the IS equivalent for the IS Rifleman.

Grizzly (70 tons) - Mechwarrior 2 Classic. It does have two variants, so a third PGI variant would be made to fill in the gap.

Black Python [Viper] (75 tons) - This mech would add in another Steel Viper design in the game. It basically acts as an equivalent to the Marauder and Warhammer, but faster.

The Project Phoenix Python is pretty tasty. A bit too Laserboat for my tastes, but hey, what are you going to do?

The BP 1 and 2 have two MGs stock in the left arm, which can be easily replaced by up to twin UAC/10. The BP 3 has the MGs split to one per arm, letting you pack bigger guns at the expense of wider exposure. The Black Python 2 also has a third ballistic hardpoint in the left torso.

PGI will need to make up at least two variants of their own: one for reinforcement and one for the hero. That's an easy opportunity to give it some missile hardpoints.

Those additions would make it a more fun mech to own. I have a hard time with mechs that boat only one weapon type. I like variety in potential mech pack purchases.

Shadhawk IIC be a nice 45 tonner for clans most of it's variants can be added into the game and very vary between each on too.

do we ever get a chance to vote again on mechs after new mechs are released? like if we voted for a mech that they had released that was on the polls..but now is invalid? we should get multiple chances to vote or a new poll created after every mech release.

The Black Python is going to suffer from Ebon Jag/Nighstar syndrome - a very, very wide silhouette that makes for an easy target, while creating problems aiming and dealing with corners and invisicorners.

I expect either the Rifleman IIC or the Grizzly. It'll be interesting to see Alex's take on the Grizzly. Unfortunately, I recall it as a rather tall and skinny design, which means it will probably end up either oversized or getting fattened, so it will need some quirks. Also, most weapons are in the arms, which are relatively low slung.
