So in a way, IS mechs will have more options available, which then will help dictate the types of builds to use depending on the engine type or not, while omnis will still have locked equipment and somewhat(depending on the mech) sub optimal engine sizes. Yes c battlemechs will still be outliers, but things should get interesting. Also that clan component health Nerf went a longer way in helping balance the disparity in tech bases than many are willing to admit while maintaining a somewhat logical approach due to slots used/HP. Still relatively recent, but I wish that would at least be acknowledged when addressing this long winded issue.
Wasting your breath on that one, man. He's a bit "Fixated" shall we say.
IS will have more options to pick from, multiple engine sized to tailor their build, none fixed gear, more internal hit points, better cooling efficiency from engine mounted HS should anything happen to your clan XL (And it will because you'll have to stare at a target like a lemon due to long burn times), shorter burn times, quirks up the wazoo doubling the health to something near that of a kodiak on their heavies, none nuclear-rigged gauss rifles that won't explode if the pilot sneezes, SRMs and MRM that'll don't cook you hotter than ghost-heat from large pulse and spread wider than a sorority girls legs, and large lasers that actually reach out and touch targets when combined with quirks rather than being a blue medium laser... and now on top they get an engine that gives them the cXL survivability with none of the cooling loss at a slightly higher weight cost.
I _WISH_ Clan 'Mechs had that option. Of course IS engines are inferior. They get all that ^ .
But no, because clan XLs survive a single side torso loss more their MASSIVELY OP AND BREAKING THE GAME according to this one >.>
